“Two weeks?!” Nigellus disagreed. “After a war where they became jaded adults before their time? No, it’ll be 2 days.”
“Are we making wagers then?” Albus asked in his genial.
“Not with you,” Armando Dippet woke from his fake slumber to
continue his crusade against his successor. “Not after you raised the Potter boy like a lamb to slaughter.”
Then to the applause of all of the portraits, Minerva told a ready-to-argue-the-point Dumbledore, “Oh hush, Albus. None of us agree with you, you war criminal.”

“Hm,” Draco hummed as Hermione entered his office, closing the door behind her. “I’m not a whore to be called upon whenever you’re in the mood, you know.”
Instead of turning on her heel as he’d expected, she sat
down across from him. “That’s great and all, but that’s not why I’m here.”
“Oh?” He finally put his pen down and sat up straight. “I wasn’t aware that we had any projects that required a closed door or even to speak, if the last few weeks have been anything to go off of.”
Before she could get the nerve to tell him her news, he dismissed her with a wave. “Look, if this is you coming to ask me not to tell anyone about the last time we worked late, I can assure you that I’ve told you no one. I won’t tarnish your golden reputation.”
The pair sat in pointed silence until Leo ran upstairs to finish his homework. Draco had expected Hermione to busy herself by cleaning up dinner, but she allowed the plates and silverware to go untouched. Instead, she seemed determined to
sit as still and quietly as she could manage until her unexpected guest could no longer bear the awkward tension.
Annoyed though he was, he couldn’t help but admire the determination necessary to think you could actually get rid of an unwanted visitor by simply waiting them out.
Part of him had to wonder if she’d done this successfully before.
Nearly half an hour passed before he coughed pointedly. “Your kid is annoying.”
If he thought he was past all the surprises she had in store for him, he was promptly corrected when she replied, “Yeah, I know.
