NINE charges for corrupt business influence, fraud where the loss is between $750-$50k, and theft

The bond is set at $25k

These charges are ON TOP of a pending civil collection and a pending criminal misdemeanor for an OWI

Based on the timeline on MyCase, I believe these charges are for the rent scam she started in 2021.

From ~Aug-Dec 2021 it is believed that she still had the keys to a home she rented but was evicted from for lack of payment.

She preyed on people (young families & travel nurses) in Facebook groups looking to rent in Hamilton County.

She showed interested parties the home as if it was hers, collected a deposit between ~$1500-$1800 and then blocked the "renter" on FB.

She apparently did this between ~20-50ish times.

In Facebook groups like Fishers Chatter, Pendleton Chatter, etc there are HUNDREDS of people warning others about her rent scam and how they were/knew victims.

One woman I saw couldn't give her kids presents in Dec. 2021. The latest I've heard of was left homeless.

I know what you're probably wondering, why explain this online? Seems petty?

It's because Megan has been lying and defrauding people & organizations since at least 2016 and has been getting away with it.

I first met Megan when working on a few campaigns in Hamilton/Marion County in 2015/2016. She would have just graduated high school then and was always around the parade circuit volunteering.

When I worked a convention race in 2016, she reached out to ask if she could help.

I said yes and asked her to call delegates from the 3rd Congressional District. ~450 phone calls and needed to know if they planning on going to the convention, who they were voting for, etc.

She gave me back the Excel sheet and marked "didn't answer/voicemail" in every column.

That is statistically impossible.

I was Midwest nice and instead of calling her out, I ignored future requests to "volunteer."

Unfortunately, she did the same thing to a Senate candidate's data in 2016. Word got out and she was blackballed from "helping" on future campaigns at the state level.

This was the same time that Indiana had a play in the 2016 GOP primary, so we had candidates here constantly stumping, fundraising, etc.

Carly Fiorina had a huge fundraiser in Indy that spring and Megan attended.

Allegedly, the check she wrote was bad for that event.
(For a presidential candidate, I'm guessing admittance for 1 person was $500+)

I worked in and around Indiana politics from 2016-2019 but most of my clients were out of state so I didn't have a ton of skin in the game but heard constant stories about how the checks she would write to events were bad, how she "volunteered," etc.

I think a lot of folks caught wind that she wasn't trustworthy so she moved on to other organizations/causes.

This is when she started to get involved in the Mental Health/ARC Churches space.

Megan started a podcast called "The Sinking ARC" that focuses on iTown in Fishers and other churches.

I don't know much about this organization, but there seems to be a lot of controversy in the church world.

Somehow, her lies and deceit got so bad that blogs wrote about it.

Around this same time, she was arrested for an OWI.

The details about the case aren't available on MyCase, but in a public statement she made on FB, she claimed she had "cold medicine in her car." She also alluded on social media that someone from "ARC ran her off the road."

After the OWI, she and the podcast went pretty silent.

This is when she got a temporary teaching license in Indiana.

I observed internet sleuths trying to find out where she worked, but it seemed like she bounced around a lot/wasn't really working.

On top of that, she started sharing this Amazon list en masse.

If you have the time to scroll down, you'll notice a lot of personal, high-ticket items.

She started using #clearthelist to get folks to buy items. I observed others questioning the items and wondering if they were really for her or for students.

Since starting this thread, I've had two separate friends – not from Indiana – tell me that she's been in their DMs asking for items to be purchased.

Odd.

She's got half a dozen or so eviction cases on MyCase. In the majority of them, she fails to appear and damages are immediately awarded.

I've seen screenshots of her telling landlords that she doesn't work/can't pay damages.

So, why share an Amazon list if you don't teach?

In the last ~6 weeks, I was aware that a group of victims from her rent scheme were building up a case, which I believe resulted in the active warrant that you see today.

There are dozens of other stories I'm aware of from practically demanding admittance to events to nasty grams she's sent around, but I feel its important for others to know the extend of her fraud and lies.

I am far from a perfect person. I have made awful mistakes and do my best to repent & apologize when I'm in the wrong.

I've silently observed Megan for too long and she needs to be held accountable before more innocent people get caught in her bizarre web of deceit.

Since writing this thread ~3 hours ago, I've had 5 people reach out to me saying that she's tried to scam them. And these are folks not involved in Indiana GOP politics and/or organizing.

I think it's important to note just how aware folks high up in Indiana GOP politics are aware of Megan and the past claims she's made.

The 2016 Noblesville 4th of July parade I was walking for a convention candidate and Megan was there.

Again, Indiana was playing a huge role because it was rumored that then-Gov. Mike Pence would be tapped to be the VP nomination.

National news was there covering the parade and Gov. Pence who was walking in it.

I think NBC and maybe ABC, CNN, etc. Smallish parade, but a wide route and lots of people who wanted to shake his hand. Whole town came out.

I had a friend who had one job: keep Megan away from Gov. Pence. No handshake, no selfies, nothing.

Not trustworthy enough to have her even get near the national media.

If the soon-to-be Vice Presidential Nominee knows that you have a history of lying/making baseless claims . . . that's preeeetttty wild.

Another point, and it's something that's bothered me for awhile, albeit small.

Stoner is NOT a "political consultant."

If you want to run for statewide office here, there are only 4, actual consultants here that I would suggest.

Three of them are female and ain't one of 'em her.

If your "consultant" has a history of faking doorknocking, phone calling, and maybe putting out a few yard signs . . . I'd call that a volunteer and get my money back.

I’m now aware of at least 40 people I know who have been contacted by Megan for some scam or another.

My guess is that she spends most of her time DMing strangers (in the thousands) for money.
