Quite a lot of people snigger when Modi talks of India as a Vishwa Guru.
Two reasons:
• Divisions within India
• A self-flagellating & self-defeating belief that India is not, and will never be, powerful enough to be taken seriously by the world.
If we dismiss the doomsayers, as totally missing all the positives, and the definite possibility of India becoming, at least the No.3 power in the world, what role should India aim for in the world, which is realistic and fits it's genius?
• Step 1 is, of course, to resolve fundamental strains & divisions within India, which are principally religion, caste & Marxist ideology.
By the end of this decade India should have developed, enough economically, to erase social & economic backwardness, which
should considerably ease internal tensions, apart from other positive actions to be taken.
A forward looking nation, which is racing to become the No.1 power by 2047, should have dropped most, if not ALL religious, caste & ideological baggage of the past, by this time.
Inevitably, the question will arise, what should India's role in the world be, as it rises up into one of 3 top slots, from the 2030's to 2047?
There is not a shadow of a doubt that India by then, would be a very credible, if not the dominant military power.
If we look at the past, right down to China's recent rise, there is almost no middling to Great Power, which has not been violently expansionist.
It is in this context, that India can become a Vishwa Guru...the first Great Power, with great military strength &
prowess at its command, but voluntarily dedicated to development, progress & peace between nations.
It is India's great civilisational past which will be the foundation, and provide the credibility to enunciate and perform this unique role among the nations of the earth.
The kind of tectonic technological changes, which would have taken place by the mid-century, will require great wisdom to guide international affairs, if Planet Earth is not to self-destruct...not the dominant, cynical philosophy that ALL GREAT POWERS WILL BE EXPANSIONIST.
It is in breaking this mould of a Great Power, that Bharat can truly become a Vishwa Guru.

#WhatsWrongWithWokes
I always thought that there was something wrong with the unctuous, mincing tones of the Yogendra Yadavs of the world.
All that concern for freedom, democracy, equality & pretend identification with the poor is TO HIDE the
simple fact that the major contributors to people's
welfare are scientists,inventors engineers, technologists,
entrepreneurs, innovators, businessmen, artisans & workers.
Most them are 'action-oriented', often inarticulate, make no
pretence to 'not working for their own benefit' and rarely refer to their humunguous contribution to people's welfare since the dawn of history.
They may as well be non-existent.
That gap is filled by the 'woke' Yadavs of the world. As articulate amplifiers of the woes of

I used to greatly respect @PavanK_Varma at one time. But I now see him almost as a villain in the class of Karan Singh.
These are people who are supposedly intellectuals, steeped in the culture of this land, men of integrity firstpost.com/opinion/atiq-a…
who could and should have weighed in very strongly against manifest evils in our society & Government.
Yet if you ask what they have achieved, the answer would be zilch, cipher..a big zero.
Here is @PavanK_Varma
waxing eloquent on political, judicial & police
reforms almost 50 years after the need arose, due to great corruption, use of muscle power and community(Muslim)/caste vote-banks all of which were documented in films & discussed threadbare at that time.

"China’s debt is nearly 44% of its GDP and its local governments owe nearly $5.14 trillion. With the economic slowdown and collapse of land sales revenue, provinces and local governments in China are facing an embarrassing situation"

"Output from plants running on fossil fuels rose 11.2% ....offsetting a 28.7% decline in generation from cleaner gas-fired plants as a global spike in LNG prices deterred usage."
"Electricity generated from coal rose to 1,162.91 billion kWh..with share in overall output 73.1%."
"1 million kWh of power produced from coal generates 975 tonnes of carbon dioxide..while the same amount of power generated from gas produces 475 tonne..and lignite emits 1,280 tonnes to produce equivalent power".

"Due to the non-availability of funds for the purchase of EVMs, the uncertainty of getting Tk1,200 crore needed to repair the existing EVMs, and objection from most of the political parties, tbsnews.net/bangladesh/no-…
the commission may have changed its decision on EVMs," said EC Secretary

"Regarding not using EVMs, Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif told TBS, "We demanded use of EVMs because casting votes with ballots
and counting those take a lot of time. Besides, there are examples of miscreants taking over ballot boxes and casting fake votes. There is no chance of these if EVMs are used"
