Given Mr. Bowes and Mr. Martin are trending, there's a little-known story involving both of them that people may find interesting.

Possibly revealing into the character of both individuals.

Anyway sure if you've nothing better to read 😂... /1
These days Mr. Bowes is affiliated with the Russian State, well according to Twitter's labeling system.

Obviously Mr. Martin works for Irish people, whether they think he's doing a good job of that is another matter 😂

Still, working for Ireland unlike this other genius. Image
If you rewind a number of years, Mr. Bowes was a self-styled Irish patriot and entrepreneur.

Together with 2 others, came up with a business idea.

1916 Freedom Tours, which can be described as similar to VikingSplash but with Chay giving a history lesson and no splash/fun. Image
One of the more flattering reviews read:

"Once you don't mind being the laughing stock of pointing passers-by and absolutely baffled cyclists, this is 100% the tour for you.

If for nothing else, go for the craic of driving around town in a military-style truck"

Sounded fun 😂 Image
Of course these days the 1916Tour account is suspended on Twitter for breaking their rules, shocker.

When it wasn't suspended it was one of many accounts Chay had on Twitter, I'll get to that.

There was particular emphasis that the tour was non-political. Image
Chay's Tour wasn't proving the hit he hoped, even after popping up all over the media with plugs for the business.

'Rave reviews' is not a sentence you could associate with this escapade 😂

Despite again pledging to make it "non-political" he decided something had to be done. Image
Ignore the bad reviews. Chay, focus.

Got it! A political endorsement on the website, that should do the trick 💡

Who to ask? Politicians can be hard to reach and get many requests 🤔

Who'd be kind enough to go out of their way to put their name to a start-up business?

Yeah. Image
A proud Irish man, Micheál Martin, who may or may not be good at politics depending on your view.

Still went out of his way to help a start-up Irish business with an endorsement.

Chay more than happy to use Micheál's name, when it was in his best interests to do so.

Weasel.
Not just Micheál, other members of FF & FG too.

For a while it was all "good job, Stephen", "you're the man, Stephen!", "sun shines out of your arse, Stephen!"

When it was in Mr. Chay's best interests to do so, pursuing his latest harebrained entrepreneurial idea in healthcare. ImageImage
It's interesting who Chay's father used to tag on social media when talking to his son.

1916Tour, fair enough, that was obviously his son.

What's very strange, is he also thought "Questinitall71" was his son.

What are the odds, this must be a 1-in-a-billion freak coincidence. ImageImageImageImage
'The Ditch' legion of fans are piling on Micheál Martin today.

Mentioning 'The Ditch' in same sentence as Russia is an outrage, they say.

Conspicuously silent on the fact Chay himself chose to be introduced on Russia Today as "Director of Ditch Media".

Amazing. Image
If people don't like this current government, vote next election and give someone else a chance.

Can be done without hero-worshipping a lad with no principles whatsoever beyond "I ❤️Russia" and a willingness to walk all over people.

MM, whatever his faults, is "I 💚 Ireland"

I find it depressing that media outlets have seemingly learned little about cervical screening in recent years.

This from the Irish Examiner today is categorically untrue, not to mention massively unhelpful.

I'll go through some facts to try counteract this misinformation. /1 Image
It's not just the Irish Examiner, claiming Leona was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer after "misdiagnosed" smears.

RTÉ radio said something similar.

That's at least two of the major media outlets in Ireland, who should consider doing stuff like "journalism" before saying things.
Leona wasn't diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer.

She said it was Stage 1 cancer after being referred to colposcopy by CervicalCheck.

Stage 1B2 to be precise with a very high survival rate.

Her initial treatment plan - radical hysterectomy - is rarely useful for Stage 4 cancer.

I read that Supreme Court judgement in the UK today.

It's very long at 88 pages and was not a quick or easy read, though judging by discussion online not many on Twitter attempted to read it. 😂

I'll summarise it, if anybody is interested in reading a shorter version. /1
Just for emphasis ⬇️

This thread is a summary of a Supreme Court judgement, there are no personal opinions in this thread.

So if you're reading this thread and don't like the words you're reading, it's the judges words not mine.
Lord Hodge, Lady Rose, Lady Simler, Lord Reed and Lord Lloyd-Jones all in agreement.

The first point they made is they're not defining what the word 'woman' means.

In terms of law, the only question in front of them is what does the word 'woman' mean in the Equality Act 2010. Image

Garron Noone being championed by every far-right clown in Ireland.

I'll go through what he said in order to go way, way up in the estimation of bigots.

Also some factual counterpoints to his views, which in my opinion could charitably be described as "ignorant shite." /1 Image
Definition of far-right used in many studies is meeting at least 3 of the following 5 characteristics.

(1) nationalism, (2) racism, (3) xenophobia, (4) antidemocracy or (5) strong state advocacy.

If not meeting at least 3, then you're not being referred to by the term.
Quote:

"My opinion on Conor McGregor is irrelevant but I don't think he's a good person, I don't think it's particularly hard to find evidence of that, but it doesn't surprise me..."

Most of that sentence, though not all, is an opinion many people share.

Fair enough.

This genius continues to imply there are 200-year-old vampires collecting social security and obtaining loans.

Quite possible we're living through the dumbest possible version of the year 2025. 😂

I'll go through a few facts, for anybody who doesn't believe in vampires. /1 Image
In the early 1970's the US Social Security Administration began the thankless task of creating a central database.

It involved inputting tens of millions of Social Security Numbers from paper or microfilm.

They called it "The Numident" and nowadays it's just 'Numident'.
Numident is basically what it sounds like it should be from its name.

It's a numerically-ordered master file of assigned Social Security Numbers (SSNs) i.e. identity.

After the Y2K scare the date of death format on Numident became MMDDCCYY or Month / Day / Century / Year. Image

This speech is full of half-truths, distortions, misleading claims and outright lies.

Basically living up to every meme, trope and unfair stereotype, of Americans being ignorant morons.

I'll go through each of the claims he made in this segment and what the actual facts are. /1
Quote: "I look to Brussels, where EU Commisars warn citizens that they intend to shut down social media during times of civil unrest, the moment they spot what they've judged to be hateful content."

That's a whopper of a distortion of EU law, that no serious person should make.
Link to the EU law is below, I'll discuss it in the next tweet.

Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 October 2022 on a Single Market For Digital Services and amending Directive 2000/31/EC (Digital Services Act)

This wildly misleading tweet, and the mostly hateful replies, is like entering an alternate version of reality.

If anybody is interested in the truth behind this claim, and what that Swedish poll actually asked, I'll go through it.

Probably banging my head against a wall. 😂 Image
The poll was conducted by a reputable Swedish polling company, Novus, between August 18th - 24th, 2022.

It was commissioned by a libertarian magazine, Bulletin, who eventually published it with a very misleading headline.

Sample size was 1,050 foreign-born persons.
The question asked was "have you visited your home country?"

85% of respondents said 'yes'.

No surprise as 1,050 foreign-born persons comprised many who moved to Sweden, for employment, from neighbouring Norway, Finland, Denmark, Germany.

Not hard or expensive to visit home.
