This is Fascism in 2023. Montana, US, brings in law persecuting Trans kids & removing vital healthcare from them. Together with silencing a Trans rep, Zooey Zephy for being a Trans woman - the Republican legislature banned her from the floor. nytimes.com/2023/04/28/us/…
Here’s the definition of Far Right extremism - ‘a specific ideology characterised by anti-democratic opposition towards equality’ Image
Between 7.1-10% of adults self-identify as LGBT+. If that were reversed with cis hetero ppl & LGBT+ represented ~90% of ppl these politicians would be prosecuted for hate crimes. That they are not, shows that LGBT+ equality & Pride protest have a v long way to go.
We know, from surveys, that most ppl dislike the persecution of LGBT+ ppl & especially the current persecution & increasing anti-Trans legislation that is happening in the US & UK.

Irish Anti-LGBT+ hate crimes almost doubled from 2021 to 2022

73 crimes were reported in 2021 & this increased to 135 in 2022

▪️LGBT+ hate crimes rose by 85% Image
Anti-Gender hate crimes, as reported, decreased slightly from 30 to 25 reported incidents, a drop of 5 reports or 17%. The number of incidents is significant given that Trans & NB ppl represent less than 1% of the population.
Total number of hate crimes [all groups]

2021: 389
2022: 507

Overall, hate crimes increased by 30%

On this day in 1945 one of history’s most depraved & evil people killed himself. His hatreds & Far Right vision led to the Holocaust, & WWII that spread around the world. Some 45 million civilians & 15m combatants were dead by its end*. Image

The Holocaust has been described as the worst crime of the 20th C. Hitler & his henchmen sought to wipe out several groups for racial or social reasons. The tolls for those marked* are still being researched.
