In a press release Monday, Japan's Ministry of Defense said the carrier group recently sailed through the Bashi Channelβlocated between Taiwan & the Philippines.
I've seen reports that Destroyer USS Chung-Hoon is also operating nearby, but I haven't been able to independently confirm or find the source.
The last known location of the Chung-Hoon (that I can verify), part of the Nimitz CSG, was departing Subic Bay, Philippines, on 20-04.

Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group enters the Pacific π

The Vinson CSG completed training in the Hawaiian Islands operating area on April 17 in "preparation for an upcoming deployment."
