This thread is for aspirants who missed the Mains exam:

1) Think about reasons- If you can't find reason, it is impossible to solve this. There are always reasons. But we don't recognize that.
#UPSC
2) Optional—If this is the cause, consider changing it. The time to make a decision is now.

#UPSC
3) Work on the essay and the ethics paper if you believe there is room for improvement. It is really challenging to work on these papers after prelims.

PYQ'S for IAS Prelims

Everyone says that PYQʼs are crucial for clearing the IAS Prelims exam. But rarely people will explain their importance. Here, I am listing five points

#UPSC
1) Many times questions are directly picked up from previous year question papers. For example, "Kingdoms associated with the life of the Buddha" question of 2014 was asked as it is in 2015. It is just a single example. You will find many such examples.
#UPSC
2) Questions based on a few topics repeat. For example, Fundamental Duties (2012, 2015, 2017) Schedules of Constitution (2012, 2014). Again, these are very few examples. When you will read and analyze, you will realize its importance.
