As someone who was almost killed by a driver rear-ending them I have to say, the number of people in the comments saying that ‘it was just an accident, it happens’ and ‘it’s ok bro’ is messed up.
You’ll see a lot of people post that “the most dangerous part of storm chasing is the driving” but we can change that.
We NEED to emphasize the importance of safe chasing, no matter their experience level.
Don’t speed, stop at stop signs, increase following distance, etc.
Sadly it’s becoming increasingly difficult to teach good chasing behavior when famous “extreme” chasers constantly undermine those efforts with their “chase as I say not as I do” mentality 😑
