The last two CEOs of Stonewall have both been lesbians, @ruth_hunt and @Nancy_M_K. The suggestion that they'd betray LGB people is a crazy notion, surely? Let's look at the evidence. 2/21

Hunt took over the reigns of the UK's most successful LGB charity in 2014. According to their own website, "Stonewall had been firm about not campaigning for trans equality and many in the trans community didn’t trust Stonewall." Why not, I wonder?

Apparently,the consultation ended up involving more than 700 organisations and individuals. Who were they? We don't know. 4/21

Stonewall considered awarding grants for trans projects but was told in no uncertain terms that "cis people are ill-equipped to make decisions on where money should be spent". Even then, the position of trans as the oppressed and everyone else as the oppressor is cemented. 5/21

In 2015, the Arcus Foundation gave stonewall 100k dollars to specifically "integrate trans specific work into all all key campaigns" 6/21

In February 2015 they added the T. @Genderintell, founded by trans identified female Jay Stewart in 2008, provided training to Stonewall. Presumably GI were considered the cream of the 700 (!) trans organisations lobbying Stonewall. 7/21

In Jan 2015, a month before that announcement, Jay Stewart from @Genderintell hosted a @TEDTalks and made a profound statement about how trans people want to "complicate the picture of gender". The full talk is mad queer theory writ large. 8/21

In 2016, Stonewall & @Genderintell wrote a "Getting Started" toolkit for schools, which might be their earliest move to redefine gay from "same sex attracted" to "same gender attracted". This term erases homosexuality as we know it.

By April 2017, their Trans Advisory Group signed off on the now notorious "vision for change" roadmap, which pushed for self ID in women's prisons, and changes to sex by deception laws for trans people. 10/21

In October 2018, Stonewall published their "truth about trans" page, which explicitly implies that some lesbians/gay people may be open to straight sex with trans people. This is just straight-up gay conversion therapy. 🚩11/21

March 2019, people start noticing that Stonewall has changed it's definition of homosexual, calling it a "medical term" (?) and replacing sex with gender. Note their definitions today are no different, none refer to sex 12/21

June 2020, Hunt scuttled off to the house of lords, and Nancy Kelly took the reigns, claiming she will "defuse the increasingly toxic row over transgender rights" 13/21

In May 2021, as temperature in the debate continued to rise, Nancy casually compared gender critical beliefs to anti-Semitism. Extraordinary stupidity for a charity which fought for same-sex-attraction. 14/21

Also November 2021, in a bizarrely incoherent interview for @BBCWomansHour, Nancy Kelly suggests JK Rowling has views that "echo very common forms of transphobia", with zero evidence to backup the claim. 16/21

Feb 2022, following the government's decision not to ban exploratory therapy for trans identified people, Stonewall, with the help of the increasingly absurd @GoodLawProject, decide to attack the EHRC! 17/21

April 2023. @Nancy_M_K celebrates lesbian visibility week by showcasing a bloke larping as a lesbian. If there was ever an utterly inappropriate moment to promote the erasure of lesbians, it's during this week. A nasty, stupid and spiteful act. 19/21

Over the last few years, @stonewalluk has gone from an impressive and hugely successfully LGB rights charity, to a deeply unserious trans activism /queer theory charity, demonstrating poor judgment and extraordinary arrogance with every half baked, bizarre campaign. 20/21

This is why @AllianceLGB had to be established - LGB people desperately need a sensible, level-headed charity to represent them. @stonewalluk are now a diabolical liability to themselves, and everyone they claim to represent.
