Right now #Vaughan Council is getting a confidential update on an OLT case submitted Feb/2023 about a 1989 OPA on the Oak Ridges Moraine...sure hope her dismissive view of the validity of 30yo land use plans remains steadfast...4/5

The second figure is the Secondary Plan approved by Council in 2019, reaffirmed by the tribunal approval in 2021 (OPA 50) 2/x

Voting on 2051 Official Plan now, looks as though it will include 250Ha of Oak Ridges Moraine (ORM) #Greenbelt land in #Vaughan...they are talking now about splicing it out & voting on it in parts? Staff clearly said can't sign off if it includes ORM land...1/x Image
Chair Emmerson who has failed to call motions out of order says on the whole the plan should be supported and it's only a little bit of the Oak Ridges Moraine here and there, not a precedent setting vote @YorkRegionGovt Code of Conduct 2/x
The poor Clerk is being asked to splice Official Plan apart so @YorkRegionGovt Council members can support the bits & pieces...It's crazy. So messy! It all stems from motions brought forward by politicians that should have been called our of order 3/x

Insane because @townofeg doesn't have an approved W/W servicing solution. Worse, at the behest of Mayor @VirginiaHackson @YorkRegionGovt is set to approve an urban boundary expansion on #farmland for 660Ha more. Wonder if the fire department can service it all? 1/4

Fengate & LIUNA invested in the Walmart Distribution Facility in #Vaughan that needed an #MZO only to rezone 4 acres of #wetland to allow for 200 tractor trailer parking spots and is located just south of where the proposed #Highway413 will end. fengate.com/blog/2020/09/1…

Community Value Plan #StopThe413 meetings @ONtransport admits noise studies aren't complete. They can't even talk to us about how the community will be protected from noise; can't tell us anything about a "major physiological stressor"! 1/x
