I was in a conservative space last night

I enjoy the spaces put on by this certain person who organizes them. Mostly, it's composed of reasonable conservatives with interesting things to say

However, something kept coming up: "TruAnon" "Liberals are in a cult"

Here's the thing my conservative friends (the kind with a lowercase C):

You may have valid points about Liberal screw ups, and you may be different from far-right extremists

But you still don't understand why many of us still support the PM

No, it's not a cult

People don't defend the PM because it's a cult of personality

People defend the PM because every little criticism of him helps the CPC

You must see that?

Pierre Poilievre is dangerous

The CPC has pushed people to choose from an imperfect PM vs a dangerous man

There's no cult, nor is there anything mysterious about the pragmatism in play here

The damage done by the likes of Bolsonaro, Johnson, Trump, Orban, Bukele, AMLO, and other populists is self-evident

It's the same damage Poilievre would do

You see that, right?

Poilievre welcomed the convoy to Ottawa, Scheer did too, Lantsman went on Fox News, Ferreri videos herself in a tub, Lewis dines with neo-Nazis, etc.

Conservatives (capital C) are undemocratic. Provincial Conservatives are no better (i.e. AB, ON)

You must see that there's a reason why Poilievre is polling abysmally with women

You must see that Poilievre talking to an empty chair makes him an unserious man; and his pretending to be an average Joe while amassing a fortune as a life-long MP makes him a fraud

So I say to conservatives who still fall under the classic definition of the word:

Your party left YOU

The fact the rest of us see it and refuse to chance their coming to power, doesn't mean that there's such a thing as a "TruAnon cult"
