HOLY FUCK: This case was Shelby County v. Holder (2013), the one that infamously gutted huge portions of the Voting Rights Act, ending the requirement for any new voting restriction bills introduced in any state to be “pre-cleared” with the Department of Justice.

BREAKING: Leonard Leo—the self-proclaimed ‘judicial activist’ who basically founded the Federalist Society—arranged for Ginni Thomas to be paid tens of thousands of dollars for consulting work just over a decade ago, specifying that her name be left OFF billing paperwork.
In January 2012, Leo instructed Kellyanne Conway to bill a nonprofit group called the Judicial Education Project and use that money to pay Ginni. The same year, the Judicial Education Project filed a brief to the Supreme Court in a landmark voting rights case.
Leo, an adviser to the Judicial Education Project and key figure in a network of orgs that have worked to nominate conservative judges, told Conway that he wanted her to “give” Ginni Thomas “another $25K.” He emphasized the paperwork should have “No mention of Ginni, of course.”

MAGA is amplifying claims of unsubstantiated allegations against Biden that are coming from two compromised @GOP lawmakers @RepJamesComer and @ChuckGrassley, who issued a subpoena to the FBI demanding an investigation based on a “highly credible” whistleblower complaint.
These congressmen assert that the FBI has material outlining “an alleged criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Biden and a foreign national relating to the exchange of money for policy decisions.” Yet they provide no info re: the whistleblower’s background or credibility.
.@RepRaskin: “This is a baseless political stunt. Committee Republicans are recycling unsubstantiated claims floated by Senate Republicans by issuing a subpoena to the FBI to require the release of a June 2020 tip from an unknown informant.”

This is what people of color have to deal with from the police every day. This officer—who is literally wearing a TERRORIST flag over half of her face—refuses to issue a ticket to this woman’s son or remove her hand from her gun. This mom probably saved her son’s life.
Found a link to this story. This was in Elk Grove, California in September of 2020. It looks like the son filed a formal complaint but there were no ramifications for the officer. Absolutely infuriating and unacceptable.

I live in a blue state on the East Coast in which I have never seen police donning terrorist, confederate, or Nazi flags/bandannas across their faces, cars, or uniforms. But I’ve been pulled over three times since I moved here and was never even ticketed. White privilege is real.
