4 years ago in May 2019, a few of us came together and voluntarily submitted a comprehensive crisis-management communications plan to the then Government of Sri Lanka who had appealed to the public to submit such recommendations in the wake of the #EasterSundayAttacks. 
The 6 of us met online (on Twitter), but we all shared a common mission in our capacity as experienced communications professionals to help our country and it’s citizens in a time of need and great grief.
Our recommendations to the GoSL consisted of urgent communications-related requirements, media and stakeholder engagement, positive use of social media etc. at a time when misinformation was rampant and causing further tensions within communities.
Needless to say, it was a waste of our time, as we never heard from anyone after our submission, not even a simple acknowledgment. #SriLanka #CrisisCommunications
