Claim 1: BJP won in Maharashtra by adding fake votes between LS 2024 and VS 2024 elections.

Finding: BJP actually performed better in seats where the voter increase was lower, compared to those where the voter increase was higher.

There were 109 seats where BJP lost in LS but won in VS. If we divide all 288 Maharashtra seats into four categories based on voter increase, BJP’s victories were higher in the categories with lower voter growth.

BJP won:

27 seats – very low voter increase
33 seats – low to medium voter increase
30 seats – medium to high voter increase
19 seats – highest voter increase

Claim 2: BJP wins by adding fake voters to the voter list.

Finding: The data does not support this claim. BJP has lost in elections where the voter count increased, and it has also won in elections where there was little or no increase.

When the results of the last three VS elections (held within a year of LS) were compared with voter growth, no consistent pattern was found.

- In Maharashtra 2024, voter growth was around 3.6% on average, and BJP won.
- In Jharkhand 2019, a similar increase was seen, yet BJP lost.
- In Delhi 2014, again with a similar increase, BJP lost.
- In Haryana, Chhattisgarh, MP, and Rajasthan, no major voter increase occurred, but BJP still won.

India’s oil diplomacy is saving billions.

Since 2022, discounted Russian crude has saved India over $25 billion in foreign exchange.

Average crude import cost fell from $93.15 to $82.58 per barrel, translating into ₹1.64 lakh crore in savings.

Petrol prices were cut twice Rs 8 in 2022 and Rs 2 in 2024 ,down 10% in just two years.

Far from hurting the world, India’s Russian oil imports stabilized it. By ensuring affordable supplies, India prevented a global price spiral that would have severely hurt even Western economies.

Ironically, it was the US itself that encouraged India to buy Russian oil

Next Gen GST Reforms (Explained)

Much is being said & written about the next-generation GST reforms announced by PM Narendra Modi, on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day.

Majorly, a lot of it is just limited to the rate cuts but there's more to it -

There are other big changes, for which wheels have been set in motion, including:

- Inverted duty structure
- Resolution of classification issues
- Elimination of Compensation Cess
- Technological upgradation

On the whole, changes will prove to be substantial ones & beneficial

Inverted Duty Structure

GST reforms will seek to address inverted duty structures, where input taxes exceed output taxes, leading to the accumulation of input tax credit (ITC) & working capital bottlenecks for the businesses.
