Here's how to use it:
Go to pdfgear(dot)com and download the app.

Click on the blue "Chat Now" button to your right.

PDFgear will give you a summary of the paper and suggest a few sample questions.

Simply start asking questions.
PDFgear works with research papers where you have text scanned as an image.

As you can see, pages in this PDF have been scanned as images. But PDFgear works perfectly with it.

This is just brilliant!
You can convert a PDF to a Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

You can also export pages of your PDF as images.

Click on the blue button in the top-right corner of the PDF and choose the appropriate format.
PDFgear also lets you edit a PDF.

Click on "Edit Text" in the top-left corner and start editing.

You can extract quotes from a research paper.

Click on the "Extract Text" button in the toolbar and select the quote you want to extract.
This feature works even if the text is scanned as a image.

If you are reading lengthy papers, you can choose "Night Mode" to make it easy on your eyes.

Adobe's Acrobat Reader also offers a dark mode but it only darkens the user interface and not the PDF itself.

Click on "Create new notebook" and upload a paper.

NotebookLM will give you its summary.

From the dropdown menu, select your language and click on "Save."

Chat Academia now lets you use your own OpenAI API key.

This will make the app much more affordable. You can use it to integrate 5 academic databases with ChatGPT.

Here's how to set your OpenAI API key in Chat Academia:
1. Go to platform[.]openai[.]com and sign up for an account.
2. Once you've logged in, click on "Start building" in the top-right corner.

Enter your name and select the level of your technical proficiency. Select "Create organization" and skip the next step.

Then click on "Generate API Key" and your API key will be generated.
