I said I thought it was an overcorrection, which I can speak on as a Black person because we, alone, get to decide how we feel personally about something that could be racist or offensive.

I did NOT say anything about “being woke” being an issue or a problem EVER.
What y’all NOT gon’ do is infer that I believe — or EVER said — that being cognizant of the hate and racism and micro-aggressions in this white-supremacy-fueled nation is a bad thing.

An #OverCorrection means folks CARED about not being hateful

#BeingWOKE is the GOAL.
#BeingWoke & the use of the word #Woke was OUR thing. WE told each other to #StayWoke. It was OUR way of encouraging & reminding each other that better can come if we stay vigilant & focused on moving forward despite the hate.

Those against that movement made it a pejorative.
As long as I am Black in AmeriKKKa, I will #StayWoke and encourage everyone who cares about others to do the same.

Seeing color, calling out foolishness and being anti-racist is the goal.

In doing that, there will be overcorrections.

I spoke simply on that.

If you want to see a PERFECT example of a Karen attempting to weaponize her tears to get what she wants even if it ultimately causes bodily harm to a Black person, watch this.

As you watch, I want you to notice a few things…

*This will be a thread because I’m now annoyed*

1/
1) She thought that if she yelled for help & cried she would immediately get her way.

Why? Because historically that has always worked for them. That’s why they do it.

They don’t care if someone gets hurt. When inconvenienced — or God forbid, DENIED — yell for help & cry.

2/
2) When she saw she was being recorded she popped that work badge off her neck with the quickness.

Why? Because she saw that camera and knew that social media sleuths would have her name, job site and shoe size by lunch time.

She knew her antics would jeopardize that job.

There you go again. Who said you couldn’t say woke? You can and SHOULD.

Just not pejoratively.

Racists, homophobes and xenophobes have weaponized the word to stand in for anyone and anything they hate like Black folks, books and a woman’s right to choose.

Don’t be like them.
I don’t have beef with you @mxw616 but you attributed a thought to me I didn’t have or express, while mischaracterizing a word Black people use to signal that something important to our very existence needs to be paid attention to.

I won’t educate you further because I’m tired.
And every Black person — especially Black women are tired.

There are books you can buy or get at a library that will explain all these issues if you still don’t get it.

But this has been discussed ad nauseam.

You still don’t get it because you don’t have to.

Must be nice.

No to rape. Yes to sexual abuse. Was she harmed? Yes. Was his statement defamatory? Yes. Did @ejeancarroll prove Trump lied? Yes. Was there malice from Trump? Yes. Did she prove he harmed her? Yes.

She’s getting MILLIONS… they’re still listing charges and damages…
She’s been awarded FIVE MILLION dollars.
Thank you @ejeancarroll for fighting this good fight. You’ve suffered greatly and he will finally have to pay up for his crimes.

Hey @kelly_cadigan, the internet doesn’t think you’re racist, we now KNOW you are. But I’m grateful for this video because it also perfectly illuminates what I’ve been saying about how detrimental the myth of white supremacy is.

1/
Because you have been ingrained from BIRTH to believe that you are inherently superior, you had NO problem waxing poetically about something you admittedly knew NOTHING about & couldn’t be bothered to research before giving your “expert” opinion with your WHOLE chest. 🥴

2/
And this wasn’t a conversation about pumpkin spice lattes or the best lip plumper.

You were FLIPPANTLY and DEFIANTLY loud and wrong about SLAVERY.

You made a mockery of GENERATIONAL suffering whose remnants linger to this day!

I just…

Whew.

Lemme help y’all because my block finger is itchy.

Do NOT pop in my replies to admonish me for celebrating that unrepentant criminal FINALLY getting his comeuppance.

That imp called for the execution of the #Exonerated5, has assaulted women & is a flaming RACIST.

#GTHOHWTBS
If you think I’m better than this, I’m not.

He is poison. A malignant tumor on our Democracy and the rule of law.

He has lied, stolen, cheated AND incited a insurrection where people DIED! And don’t get me started on the MILLIONS his handling of covid harmed and killed!
I will continue to mock, ridicule, light a match and stomp my feet about his indictment — this one and ALL the ones to come.

I will tag him, his troglodytic minions, his rancid seed and anybody else his stink is on.

And I will do it whenever and however I please on MY page.

One thing I’ve learned on the @ring neighborhood app is that white folks steal so casually. They’re brazen in how chill they are about committing crime.

Is it because they can do it so often and easily in life with little or no consequence?

Real question.
I’m truly amazed.
A few years ago there was a # where white folks were honest about how easily they can get away with stuff in life.

Stuff = criminal activity that would get other folks long prison sentences or on a very bad day quickly shot & killed by police.

I think of that watching @ring.
Another thing I noticed on the @ring app is how white folks describe the other white folks who commit crimes. They’re always still called ladies & men or kids. Never thugs, animals or criminals. They keep their humanity always even when doing heinous things brazenly ON camera.
