Hey community! before keep explaining some photography tips, I want to talk about | cowbells | and | sliders | , they are super important when you want to create a photograph and MJ is not on the right track #midjourney51#AIart#aiartcommunity#AIPhotographySeries#AIcommunity
Both ideas behind them are to help users put more or less weight in their words. MJ interprets the phrases we feed but sometimes we have an idea in our head and the result is different. So for instance, I tried to create a Dino dressed as a mechanic with little success
I've tried losing some wording and focus on the important, tried changing styles and versions and no luck, so I decided to go with slider.
The slider is a way to highlight by a specific amount the importance of a phrase or word. The phrase is repeated at the end and we assign a weight. So if we write a long prompt, we add "::", repeat a phrase, add again "::" and the weight
So I wrote "a dinosaur working as a mechanic, dinosaur dressed as a mechanic, fixing a car in a dusty old repair garage, light coming in from old windows, cinematic composition and lighting:: dinosaur dressed as a mechanic::0.5 --v 5.1" and the results drastically changed.
You can see how I repeated the entire phrase and added the 0.5. We could add a negative parameter for the opposite result. This go directly to MJ algorithm, so the recommended parameters are "0.25, 0.3, 0.5, 0.6, 0.7" for positive and "-0.7, -0.6, -0.5, -0.3, -0.25" for negative
We can add more sliders"a realistic photo of a elegant beautiful 18 year old woman wearing a haute couture dress with Swarovski crystals details, she is in Versailles Hall of Mirrors:: beautiful 18 year old::0.7 haute couture dress::0.5 she is in Versailles Hall of Mirrors::0.3"
Cowbells, in the other hand, are easier to use. we just repeat words. first prompt: "a cat, a dog, a parrot, in a garden, with a car, with a bottle"
but second prompt: "a cat cat cat, a dog dog dog, a parrot, in a garden, with a car, with a bottle bottle bottle", adding "cowbells" to cat, dog and bottle"
If you can't just get rid of the car, you can tone it down. "a cat cat cat, a dog dog dog, a parrot, in a garden, with a car, with a bottle bottle bottle:: with a car::-0.7". We might exaggerated a little, car disappeared!
Here an small table from MJ help
If you like the post, and you test cowbells and sliders, please share with us the results. And if you have questions, just ask! thanks!

The camera can't be controlled in MJ, so sometimes you might not get the results you want, you might need to test more times or add weights. I'm attaching a guide for photographers, some of these shots will work
First one is "Extreme Close-up", camera will be very close to the subject
We'll start with Double Exposure. In film photography, this happens when you take a photo using a film, then rewind the photo and take another in the same film spot. Left is an original double exposure photo on film by instagram.com/luis_collados_/ , right MJ
We also have "High Speed Photography", which is used to capture very fast situations, like bullet impacts. You can think of a fast situation and add "high speed photography" to your prompt.
