The Hometown Heroes program was created to help Florida’s community workers afford to purchase a home in the communities where they work. (1/6) Image
(2/6) Michael M., veteran and loan officer in Orange County, shares his experience below:

“As a loan officer that has facilitated a lot of down payment assistance loans, Hometown Heroes is hands-down the best program I’ve come across.
(3/6) I feel fortunate to have qualified for it myself as a veteran, which allowed me to purchase a home even with the current challenges facing our economy.
(4/6) The program helped with 5% of the loan amount – a sum that I did not have readily available in my own accounts and, as such, allowed me to make this purchase happen.
(5/6) On behalf of veterans, first responders, and the qualified professions that have used over $75 million in State assistance to facilitate their primary home purchases, I would like to thank the Governor and our marvelous State Employees for embarking on this project and...
(6/6) ...making homeownership a possibility in Florida.”
