Why wouldn't Mr Chong wish to share details of threats to his family with the committee 'in camera'? He only wants to speak in public = gives him a chance to make veiled implications that he's off the hook to back up with specifics #PROC
2/ Lori Turnbull, Poli Sci prof, says Mr Chong might not wish to have to read it in the newspaper that would increase the risk of more threats.
But that only explains not wishing to give details in public. How does that affect 'in camera'?
(Lori Turnbull was interviewed on @CBCNews, following coverage of the PROC hearing)
3/ Adding this relevant tweet by @ThomasHall17 (who is, per his profile, a "Retired House of Commons procedural clerk, interested in Constitution and language (les deux langues officielles.")
How are Canadians expected to take the CPC leader seriously when he pulls a stunt like this? He's politicizing something that should be non-partisan in nature - foreign interference. And politicizing Johnston, despite having proven to be non-partisan in all past work he's done.

(Redo) Limiting to those I follow til AB debate (on a 6 pm) is over. Sorry if there's anyone wishing to make a reasonable comment who aren't using ad hominin, and/or lies, and/or ugly memes. I usually like to hear differing POVs, but trolls are ruining it. I'll unlock later.
*if there's anyone I'm not following who are now blocked from commenting, if you have a different perspective that's fine and I'll unlock later after AB leaders' debate.
Poilievre doesn't deserve to have his statement read aloud on @PnPCBC about why they won't meet with Johnston, considering all the fuss the CPC have made about foreign interference. If he won't meet with Johnston, he should be ignored and not permitted to opine about this
3/ And Cdns should turn our backs on PP, ignore him when he speaks about FI, since he's blowing hot air only, not really taking it seriously - if he won't meet with Johnston. Doesn't matter whether he disapproves of the appointment of Johnston, he's tasked with investigating this
PP is busy falsely accusing PM Trudeau of continually being on vacation and that he should be fired. Lie after lie. It's concerning because there is a segment of Canadian voters who tune into this stuff and will assume it's true (on @CBCNews)
2/ Kudos to the reporter who said "but what proof do you have?"
(listening to translation from French)
3/ Now PP is claiming that his proof is because Trudeau's own COS testified that he sees everything.
(PP is playing a word game here. There's no proof that CSIS gave the COS that info, nor even if that story is true - it's based on a confidential leaker)

For those who are responding to @cafreeland that this will cost taxpayers too much, they're overlooking the fact Canadians who haven't been able to afford dental care can end up in emergency rooms at hospitals or missing work due to dental-related health issues
2/ (Abbrev from CBC Mar 26, 2022) "[M]ed experts agree prevention best approach for Cdns' health, & to avoid straining med syst. "[B]acteria that infect gums can travel all the way thru body, cause heart attacks & stroke, for instance" ...
3/ ... (abbrev) "Dr Stephen, emerg physician [said] hosp med teams aren't typically equipped to tackle many instances of dental pain, even tho issues often get worse & lead to ppl coming back for help or falling seriously ill — potentially resulting in longer, pricier hosp stays"
