Spoiler: election results show that the "debate" faction has a blocking minority on @VictorianGreens State council, the party's governing body. The gender radical faction still has a majority, but the minority should stop them making extremely ridic decisions.
Thorough anaylsis from Guy Rundle: "The “gender” group wants, and has recently got, the state party to commit completely to the total “gender affirmation” model — you is whatever you say you is — ...
and to explicitly ban, and label as transphobic, any internal debate that questions whether categorisation by embodied sex (in state institutions such as hospitals or prisons, for example) should play a role in a more complex modelling of sex and gender in social life..."
The “gender” group, whose most visible public face is the activist Bianca Haven, has prospered with the support of state Greens Leader Samantha Ratnam and Senator Janet Rice. Initially a younger insurgent group, it had been recruiting hard — “recruiting? It’s a stack!”, ...
- remember Haven? Tweets in support of Nazis, child rape and incest. Has a lewd account which shares rape fantasies. Yep: face of the gender group in the Greens. -
"The war has spilled out beyond party confines & into Nine media, with duelling pieces by Chip Le Grand —who wrote a sympathetic piece on philosopher Holly Lawford-Smith— and Broede Carmody, who adopted the standard usage of “TERF” to describe the arguments of the “debate” group.
"However, it seems reasonable to say that the “teal” space the Greens might once have seen as a place to expand, as inroads into working-class communities stalled, has now itself stalled. The party’s turnover has been substantial"...
“Part of me wants to save this party,” another targeted person said. “But I also think, let them have it, and see,,. They’ll divide against themselves. Let’s see what phoenix rises from the ashes.”
All of which is to affirm again that it’s not easy being… oh you’ve heard it?"
It is worth saying that the gender radicals are a faction, who vote in bloc, stack branches and working groups, and aim to promote gender ideology at the expense of all else.
Rundle calls the other "side", the "debate faction". It's true that opposed to the genderists are people who support debate- but they are not a faction. They are members who share a commitment to liberal democratic values, independent thinking, etc.
Anyway this language is all very silly. The only organised faction in the party is Sean Mulcahy’s Queer Greens fiefdom.

@VictorianGreens are very concerned about passing anti-vilification laws to protect trans people. People have been scared! And so this must be rushed through! @GabrielledeVie wants laws to protect gender, sexuality, HIV status or disability. theage.com.au/politics/victo…
Do you see what's missing?
Yep. "Sex."
Oh, little women, why should you care about vilification and want a bit of that protection the Greens are proposing? Surely you wimms don't get vilified?
Let's look at how women are treated online...
Is it because 37% of women who had experienced online abuse or harassment said that on at least one occasion, these online experiences made them feel that their physical safety was threatened? (2018 survey)
"A special meeting of the party’s ruling state council on Thursday is expected to wave through sweeping changes to the party’s code of conduct, codifying a nine-point definition of transphobia. Plenty of allegations of transgressions are expected to follow."...🧵 #greensarecooked
As @noeltowell predicts, there will be lots of Greens doing a transphobia if the amendment is passed. Saying trans rights conflict with women's? That's a transphobia! Want restrictions on child transition? Transphobic bigot! Asking questions?!? You're doing a genocide.
We are literally killing our planet every fucking day. “The party has become a hotbed of authoritarianism and members are too afraid to speak in meetings for fear of retribution,” *anon said. “I can’t even remember the last time the state council discussed climate change.”
@MoiraDeemingMP is being misrepresented by @JohnPesutto as having links to neo-Nazis. Neo-Nazis stood 20 metres away from feminists (including me, a Jew): have we caught Nazism John? They were not amongst us. John you are a man seeking to silence women in the most repugnant way.
I volunteered for Adam on all of his campaigns from 2007 - 2019 (not Lord Mayor campaign). I donated to his campaigns. I have looked after his dog and house-sat while he was on holidays.
He's lying. He knows I'm not anti-trans. He knows I'm Jewish and NOT PROTECTED BY NEO-NAZIS.
SHAME on you Adam for saying that Nazis are my allies. SHAME on you Adam for saying that radical feminists, women speaking up for women, women concerned about transitioning children, are the allies of Nazis. ...
You make participation in public society harder and less safe for women who know that there are two sexes and that children should not be transition.
YOU SILENCE WOMEN.
i have always been a feminist. At 9, I complained at school because boys got the footy workshop with the AFL stars but girls didn't. Suffered my first sexual assault was at 10, which was formative. In my teens I changed 'He' to 'She' when I read from the prayer book at schule...
I learned at university that sex = biological categories, female and male. It's binary. That's how procreation happens. "Gender" is a social construct and collection of stereotypes which harms us all. Reject gender, I say: men cry! women play sport! boys play with dolls!...
girls climb trees! women don't have to marry, take their husband's name, have babies, and do all the emotional labour in relationships. Resist!
I was happy to accept transwomen as women because I thought they challenged gendered stereotypes - men can wear dresses and be...
The Victorian #conversiontherapy (change or suppression practice) bill bans therapists from assisting 'heterosexual' people from exploring if they're homosexual bc all conduct aimed at changing a person's sexual orientation is banned. 😑 @LibertyVic@yourLIV why do you support?
@SamanthaRatnam will you vote for this bill when it comes to Parliament on 2 Feb?
@FionaPattenMLC will you support this terribly drafted bill? the unintended (but nevertheless obvious consequences) of this bill should give you pause and demand it go out to consultation.
