I have to stop reading the internet tonight. I have never been so disgusted to be a Nebraskan as I am right now. What is going on in our Unicam now is an affront to the citizens of this state that don't believe that government should play a role in any medical decisions.

This session hasn't been about doing the People's work, passing bills to make life better for ordinary Nebraskans. There's no property tax relief, no prison reform, or any decency. This is a hateful agenda, paid for by the #RickettsCabal and their (Catholic, rich) allies.

It's almost like this session, Senators saw what was happening in #Florida and #Texas and thought, "hold my beer." This agenda has been nothing but divisive and cruel, pushed forward a #Christofascist platform that tests the limits of the separations of Church and State.

As if that wasn't enough, they have taken to making personal attacks against @senatormachaela and @NebraskaMegan for taking a principled stand against their political theater. For Sen. Hunt, it's personal -- she has a trans child that will be directly impacted by these laws.

I'm absolutely sickened by the way my government has represented itself, slinking out secret exits and having their cars moved closer so they can avoid dealing with the victims of their cowardice. I'm appalled at the behavior of some who have compared the protests to #Jan6th.

Last night, a man with a Bible allegedly attacked a young woman on Capital grounds for refusing to listen to his religious rant. Both the @NEStatePatrol and @Lincoln_Police apparently let the man leave without arrest. This sounds like a bad Twilight Zone episode.

Instead, our law enforcement is being aimed at the protesters who have decided to stand up for their bodies, their medical care, and their rights, with several arrests allegedly made for various arbitrary "violations" of what seem to be capricious "rules" -- NOT laws.

Instead of being processed and getting their day in court to contest these accusations, these individuals are released without charges and given Ban and Barred notices, preventing them from ever entering the Capital grounds again. Let that sink in: protesters being banned.

Threatened with arrest for trespassing if they attempt to participate in their constitutionally protected free speech rights *without* any due process or recourse. As if that wasn't enough, one Sen. made a point that the protesters were causing a scene with their "behavior".

At one point yesterday, the Unicam was placed "at ease" so the galleries could be cleared. I'm shocked that they didn't try to cut the @NebPublicMedia feed, too. These cowards want to push their fascist agenda in the dark, without consequence, and do so without scrutiny.

If they truly believe that they are doing the work of the people, then these serious issues should be put to a vote of the 2nd House in Nebraska -- the voters. But they won't do that because they fear the voters would reject their authoritarian moves like #Kansas did.

This would anger their imaginary space deity and the Ricketts Family, who has plowed these people with tons of money. Their overlords already lost their grip on the Mayor's office in Lincoln, with the @GeistForMayor failure -- a campaign that cost millions to lose.

@GeistForMayor Now, the @NEGOP is charging full steam ahead to push this horrible cacophony of hate through, scoring a win for their handlers and resulting in a real loss for common sense, good governance, and reasonableness. Apparently, #NebraskaNice is a good bumper sticker, but all bullshit.

@GeistForMayor My lease up in August. I refuse to remain in a place that uses hatred and fear to govern the masses like an autocratic third world country.
