Oh no, in China there are no-go zones for jokes

It's funny, even the foreigners that lives in China, doesn't understand the very valid concerns within the Chinese society,

with regards to cultural trends that are detrimental to the development of the country...🧵 Image
I've seen these types of arguments made regarding AI, and it tells me they don't understand or even use ChatGPT

But let's not 得理不饶人, and talk about the cultural causes as to why these westerners, even though they live in China, doesn't understand it.
These type of ignorance is mostly caused by the fact that they come from a dominant culture.

While non-western cultures are often at the receiving end of Western cultural colonialism.

An often used stereotypes of Asians or Muslims, is that they are easily "offended" Image
But what westerners do not see, is the real anxiety among non-dominant cultures, when it comes to having their cultural norms or way of life changed.

Some might say, then those cultural norms are obsolete, the West/ European culture rose to dominance because of their openness
Logically it is correct, BUT that argument has no context.

The context of an open European culture is built on the military and industrial dominance of the West.

It's easy to accept foreign influences when you are the ones with the gun. Image
Just like how the British copied the Chinese civil service system, as they colonized India.

No one wants to accept terms from a position of weakness.

Nor should you force us Chinese to accept things that seem trivial to you, when American military bases are all around us. Image
There are no valid concern among Americans of a China funded color revolution, but these concerns are very real in China.

If the neighborhood gun nut have publicly stated that they are out to get us

Then don't complain when we frisk people as they enter our home

When looking at China, most people falls into this black and white narrative.

"Xi Jinping is promoting State Owned Enterprises? (SOEs)"
"So he must be against the private economy"

Whereas the truth is much more nuanced.
A thread on the SOE reforms and the future of China...🧵 Image
In China SOEs are divided into 3 categories controlled by the SASAC

🔷Key Industries: Defense, Telecom, Electricity, Rail, etc.
🔷Pillar Industries: Auto, Equipment manufacturing, Construction, etc.
🔷Normal Industries: Agriculture, pharmaceutical, real estate, tourism, etc.
There are 3 key factors that President Xi has identified to the SOE reforms

⏺️Enhance innovation through R&D

⏺️Mix-ownership structure to ensure fair treatment vis-à-vis private companies

⏺️Institutionalized and professionalized management team, to enhance corporate governance

China's airdrop capable 120mm Gun-Mortar (hybrid of gun-mortar-howitzer)

The PLA Airborne Corps was the former 15th Airborne Corps.

The name change also brought doctrinal changes...🧵 Image
Before the reform, the then 15th Airborne Corps were made up of 3 infantry divisions, in the old-school paratrooper style.

Since the 2016 reform, the 3 divisions were split up into 6 Combined Arms Brigades.
Even though they are light Combined Arms Brigades

They do have all the bells and whistles for high intensity operations behind enemy lines.

The key to their effectiveness is the speed. Image

US sanctions against China is like a dose of vaccine
It triggers our own immune system response, familiarizing it with a "practice infection".

De-Americanizing China's industrial supply chain during peacetime, will help China greatly if war starts🧵 Image
Before the sanction, Chinese semiconductor companies prefers foreign equipment and products

But now, they are using Chinese products whenever possible, no one wants their multibillion dollar investment halted by some lunatic law in Washington
If you think the Chinese, 20% of humanity, will just roll over and accept defeat, then you better read Chinese history in the past 100 years.

We missed the 1st industrial revolution, we missed the 2nd industrial revolution

But we've caught up in the tail end of the 3rd one
