/ The Wagner mercenary group is reported to be pulling its most experienced members out of Ukraine and sending them to Sudan, with remaining "unnecessary fighters" being left to die in Bakhmut. It may rebrand itself as the "Musicians" or "Orchestra" private military company. ⬇️ Image
/ The VChK-OGPU Telegram channel reports that according to a source (presumably within Wagner), Wagner's boss Yevgeny Prigozhin has begun "to withdraw the most proven and experienced cadres of the Wagner PMC to Sudan", which may become a future base for Wagner in Africa.
/ "In Sudan, the PMC has a big new contract with the Rapid Support Force [which has been fighting Sudanese government forces], and redeployment of mercenaries to that country has begun. Including those who took part in the fighting in Bakhmut."
/ "Not only mercenaries, but also weapons, the lack of which Prigozhin complained about. The logistics, incidentally, are handled by [former Deputy Defence Minister] Mizintsev, who was transferred from the Ministry of Defence to Prigozhin."
/ "Under certain circumstances, Sudan could become an official base of the PMC. And the PMC itself will change its name. The necessary fighters will become the "Musicians" or "Orchestra" in Africa."
/ "And [the original] Wagner will be left with the unnecessary fighters, to die in the meat grinder on the territory of Ukraine."
/ While this is unconfirmed, it does make a certain amount of sense – Wagner has made a great deal of money in Africa and media reports have spoken of Wagner members and weapons being sent to Sudan from its base in the Central African Republic.
/ Wagner's future after the battle of Bakhmut is also unclear. While the organisation's tactics of throwing waves of expendable convicts at Ukrainian defences have helped it to take most of the city, it's likely to be far less useful in defending the captured territory. /end
