We are rarely surprised by new climate research (always ‘faster than expected’ 😂), but this was genuinely incredible. Looks like the Australian fires of 2019/2020 could have cause the unprecedented La Niña. The climate is incredibly sensitive to aerosols. science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

As we've been saying since 2020, you can't "live with COVID." Technically you can live with SARS-CoV-2 as it doesn't kill; beta-coronaviruses establish viral persistence. You just won't have a liberal, ethical, organized society.

MDs/scientists, you all need to face reality asap
I don't like wasting time on twitter and will cut down; but I am as affected as you all, by living in a society that lapsed into science denial. For some of us it's hard to watch children thrown under the bus and say nothing.

Please appreciate the honest scicomm by Reality. Her analysis is representative: I received the same messages from other epidemiologists. They are heartbroken. - My approach is plain language scicomm until journalists, analysts and policy makers learn and change the conversation.
Te social conspiracy of silence around SARS-CoV is just as strong as around climate (where it’s fading, after 40 years). We don’t have 40. Focus on the impact on pregnant women, fetuses and children to make a difference. This is what people can’t ignore.
2. For lay people with as little understanding of anatomy as me, this is what a normal and placenta in Covid survivors look like. It’s likely sex-related: mechanistically I’d expect greater impact in the male placenta, which upregulates TMPRSS2, but not ACE2, expression.

We explained it 100 times. The fundamental conflict is systems thinkers vs. asystemic thinkers or scientific thinking vs. its opposite. They think they won by ending public health policy. We know the price to pay is loss of social trust and population-wide neurocognitive decline.
The hidden beauty lies in how easy solving the problem is.

I’ll be tweeting less to try to get some projects off the ground, but this 🧀🧠 ‘science’ really needs to be opposed. SARS-CoV live attenuated vaccines (LAV) ffs, better spend that € on things that will help humanity.
Get real and study public health, virology friends. There is no vaccine solution to SARS, certainly no LAV. 🥴 morons, don’t pretend upwards of 20 million people didn’t just die from your collective bullshit.
There is a case to be made that SARS-CoV-2 is an HIV latency reversal agent or model system that somehow escaped or was released. (First peer reviewed article: @Harvard2H) Tell us how you want a LAV against a LAV to work, @ProfVolkerThiel. Also cut the bs and show accountability.
