Short-Term Trading Mistakes I wish someone had warned me of 7 years Ago.

A Thread. Image
1. Trading with Too Much Capital.

I used to Copy Big traders and got into the mentality of
'IF I HAD A HUGE CAPITAL, I WOULD MAKE SO MUCH PROFITS'

I Poured all my savings, lost it. Then Borrowed more from my Mum, lost it.
While starting out, start with a small Capital.

Become consistent for 1 year and then Pour in more once you're SURE.

Next step is to stop adding anything more, but slowly withdraw profits AND Grow the capital with the remainder of the profits. Image
2. Expecting too much Profit.

I wanted to get rich sooner but keep forgetting that even Warren Buffet compounds just 12% Annually.
Keep expectations low and perform consistently.

Small compounding goes a long way.
3. Expecting Daily Profits.

Worst Plan I made with my Best friend was to set a target of 1% daily profits.
It's impossible and it won't happen.

It forced me to take bad trades, made me feel horrible looking at others 500% trades and just burnt me out and my Portfolio.
I know clowns on twitter Boast about making 10% a day everyday and 100% a week and so on.

Ask Them to share their 3 year P&L Data and they'll turn into a rock.

You need consistency and not High numbers to get rich.
4. Not Knowing my Exits.

This is my biggest regret in trading and also the biggest lesson learnt.

I wish I had known and always predetermined where I was supposed to exit at, Both in terms of taking Profits and Taking losses. Image
I would be 10x richer today if I learnt this very early that knowing your exits before entering a trade would make all the difference, but some wisdom just takes time.

Very few of you will still Understand it but it is what it is.
5. Indicators Don't work if you don't understand their Logic.

I see people taking a trade because there is an RSI Divergence, but can't explain what RSI is, how it's calculated or what does it stand for in terms for statistics. Image
And then they fail over and over again and claim 'The Market Maker is cheating us'

Unless you truly understand what the indicator is trying to tell you, you won't be able to use it.
I made this mistake with MA, MACD and Stoch Indicators.
6. Not getting a trading Buddy.

This is the most important in my Opinion.

Onxe you've learnt enough to have Doubts and have things to share, get a trading Buddy.

I made a mistake of delaying it once my Best friend stopped trading.

Do this. It will 10x your learning.
7. Running from one strategy to Another.

Most strategies are non-sense if without a strong logic but once you find something, stay with it for a 1000 trades BUT, don't trade even a single time of you don't have a strategy.
Twitter will feed you 100s of ideas but if you didn't test it on your own with your own strategy, you shouldn't be trading.
Understand these ideas and utilise them in your daily life and make those Changes right away.

Trust me, you should be making these changes from today and see the change, slowly, to your trading.

Sorry for any spelling or grammar errors.

Bitcoin Daily Open Strategy 🔥

A Thread-Simple yet dangerously effective Strategy. Image
2. MODUS OPERANDI

After UTC Open, observe the Price, Volume and Strength.

Unlike the traditional markets, Crypto Operates 24*7 so we take Midnight UTC as the Base.
3. IMPLEMENTATION:

Aim is to Monitor the first hour and observe the strength of the move.
(The method is explained with charts below)

Trade the retest of the Daily Open or continued strength. If the move is strong, expect continuation; if not, expect a retest. Okay?

1. Price Action Strategy to Buy the Dump.

Time Frame- 15 to 30 Minutes, supported by the 1 minute.

Try it as an Exercise 🔥
(Strategy is in Tweets 2-4) Image
2. Go to 15/30 mins TF

1. Mark key levels to form a range.
2. Find Previous consolidation/key support zone
3. Wait for Dump halts around key support zone
4. Establish range on 15/30 mins TF Image
3. Next, drop down to lower TF.

5. Look for largest sell volume candle near range low

6. If price reclaims range in the following candles, look for a long.

The selling stops when Price up move confirmed on the lowest volume.

This could mean there's no more forced BTC to sell.

Masterclass on Liquidations
A THREAD 🔥

Data about trigger levels can add confluence of High probability entries.

Understand Liquidation and use it for Better entries.

A Thread. Image
Liquidation-Forced close of Leverage Position when margin is not enough.

We will be looking at data from Coinalyze or Glassnode Futures liquidations, and open interest.

Add Longs liquidations and shorts liquidations indicators. Image
Liquidations are indicated by red for longs and green for shorts.

A typical strategy when we look at liquidations is reversal trading.
Many traders look for a long liquidation cascade and then buy the Dump once the cascade looks over. Image

MASTER-CLASS ON NET LONG, NET SHORT AND OPEN INTEREST 🚀

A THREAD. Image
Open interest-
A metric that tells you the number of open derivatives contracts (Futures or options).

Each contract has 2 sides - the buyer and the seller or longs and shorts.

The number of open(active) trade contracts is added to Open Interest. Image
Hence in one trade, a buyer goes long, and the seller goes short.

This forms one contract and not two.

This single contract is denoted as 1 unit of OI. Please read the OI thread here - bit.ly/3o5lfW3 Image

1. Hearing People losing their life Savings, getting a heart attack and quitting CT.

Why? because Bitcoin Dumped 3% yesterday because of some CONFUSION.

Some Thought.

2. Please stop using leverage if you can't trade or manage Positional Risk.
3. Always know that Scam wicks are a feature in Crypto and they can and will Occur.

If your SL is not wide enough to accommodate it, you will lose it all.
4. Crypto is highly Correlated and High Beta asset.

Diversified portfolio with Altcoins on leverage?

The Portfolio theory you hear about diversifying your Portfolio in this highly correlated market is traditional finance copy paste that won't work.
