#UNITED24 in #Cannes!
The flag of the fundraising platform went to the main 🇫🇷film festival, together with the film crew of the Polish-Ukrainian documentary film In the Rearview — Macek Hamel, Ksenia Marchenko, Yuri Dunay, and Anna Palenchuk.
They aren't just film-makers, but also a team of volunteers who evacuated 400 Ukrainian refugees through🇵🇱to different parts of the world. This is the subject of their film: the stories of evacuated Ukrainians, some of whom returned to destroyed homes, having lost loved ones.
Together with the film crew, we call on everyone to support the Rebuilding Ukraine direction and help hundreds of refugees return home once again — to restored homes and a normal life: u24.gov.ua/donate/renew

How to make Oscar-worthy movies? How to cast actors? Which is more important — talent or luck? Michel Hazanavicius, film director and U24 ambassador, answered these questions for students of the Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Karyi Theatre, Cinema and Television University.

We were inspired by the story of @BereniceBejo, who won the 2011 César Award as Best Actress in The Artist:
“When Berenice was doing the text, I didn’t really look at her. She called her agent and said ‘He didn’t look at me, he was not interested.’ But I hired her"
"A month after that she asked me about it. I said to her ‘The image is my job. I don’t need your makeup and hair, it’s not the major of my movie. I didn’t need to watch you, I needed to hear you. Life acting doesn't need editing. It is really the last part of the acting”
“My injuries were caused by hatred. But my body was rebuilt by love. And I said: “As a Ukrainian soldier, you will not find greater love than you will find in Ukraine. And you will have the opportunity that I have to have a new life”

War documentarian Giles Duley defines himself as a lucky man. 12 years ago, while filming in Afghanistan, he stepped on a landmine. Giles lost 3 limbs, had 37 surgeries, and was given a very poor medical prognosis. A year and a half later... he returned to work in Afghanistan.
Giles is now a founder of a charitable fund. @Legacy_of_War helps Ukrainians affected by war and raises funds via #UNITED24 for rebuilding efforts. In 2022, Giles was elected as the 1st @UN Global Advocate for persons with disabilities in conflict and peacebuilding situations.
U24 ambassador @TimothyDSnyder opposes russian propaganda on a regular basis. He recently spoke at a meeting of the @UN Security Council, convened by moscow to discuss "russophobia," and explained how russia uses this term to justify its genocide against the Ukrainian people👇🏽
📌 If you stand in russia with a sign saying "no to war," you will be arrested and very likely imprisoned. If you stand in Ukraine with a sign that says "no to war," regardless of what language it is in, nothing will happen to you.
📌 The claim that Ukrainians have to be killed because they have a mental illness known as "russophobia" is bad for Russians, because it educates them in genocide.

👨🚀@StationCDRKelly is not only a record-breaking astronaut, but also a former professional F-14 fighter-bomber pilot. Before leaving Kyiv, he asked for a meeting with Ukrainian pilots.
We didn't know if it could happen due to missile attack threat. But, everything worked out!
Scott met with Lieutenant General Anatoly Kryvonozhko, Head of Ukraine's Central Air Command, alongside Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter pilots. It was a very warm, friendly and top-secret conversation 😉
They talked about the feats of Ukrainian pilots, their capability to conduct aerial combat against an enemy with superior numbers, how they defended the capital in the first days of the war, and, of course, about the "Ghost of Kyiv." They also discussed F-16 planes, which🇺🇦needs.
The last batch of bracelets from pre-war #Azovstal is finally released!
These final 'Azovstal. A Symbol of Perseverance' bracelets were made from the "BELIEVE IN THE ARMED FORCES OF UKRAINE" letters, which stood at the foot of the largest flag of Ukraine for a month. #united24
Each bracelet costs 1,500 UAH, and is available in Ukraine, as well as the European countries, USA, and Canada. All proceeds from the sale of this last batch will go to the #FleetOfNavalDrones: u24.gov.ua/azovstal
We thank our partners — Metinvest Group, SOVA, Nova Poshta, and ROZETKA — who made this project possible.
Special thanks to the Bickerstaff.764 agency for this heartwarming video❤️
