Trying to see it in game for myself before judging but uh
It's bugged entirely lmao. Ebyssian has no quest and the other two just aren't here
Okay I exited and changed phases, now I have the opposite issue lmao
Okay finally lol, these post-raid quests are always such a mess with encryption
I obviously chose wrathion lol
I like that we're going back into the raid and seeing our effects beyond just the require mechanical use of the instance.
Makes it feel more like it's actually present in the world and not just an excuse for boss fights.
I just... don't really get how this would change anything Wrathion didn't already think lol. He already had the idea of "I want to be the earth warder my father *should* have been, not what he was", and that would still be his goal after this
Kavia does a cute little salute through her dialogue, also they do have a reshowing of the cinematic (so I dont know why this isn't available for everyone already anyways???)
I'm glad this is an actual campaign at least, leading up to the cinematic.
Getting to see these two fight more is nice, Wrathion has little flame bursts in combat (and I think a shadowstep?)
Good show of Sabellian's line in the sand on morality on this, to follow up on the raid stuff
Well at least it's development... but none of this really seems like "wow I shouldn't be aspect" development so far? Just "I should be a better leader" for both of them
Bit of an extra dig at Wrathion's 10.0 Obsidian Citadel plan to boot lmao
Sabellian still errs a bit on the "oh you're one of the good ones" instead of actually addressing that flaw, but it's better than nothing
I like that the Blacktalon have seemingly adopted the slitherdrakes into their numbers. Sabellian clearly doesn't want them, and they're misfit creations of Neltharion that make them work so well to be with Wrathion.
These guys are called Blacktalon, but are weirdly marked for Sabellian instead of Wrathion
...please don't put Sabellian as a co-leader of the Blacktalon Blizz lol
If nothing else, I hope this revisiting of raid environments continues into future stories, it helps them feel like part of the world and like our excursion has an impact on the main plot
(would be nice if there were an open world version for folks to RP in post-completion too)
Glad they remembered the detail of dracthyr signets collected from their dead, that's nice
...well Blizzard certainly made me work for my disappointment lol
There's way too much to unpack here mid-quest so I'll just move on
"seeking power bad😔😔 good leaders shouldn't be ambitious" is just such a frustratingly cliche story and I don't get why that's the only leadership story WoW can *ever* tell
The two of them just awkwardly sitting in the corner behind him is very emblematic of this story lol
Post-campaign quest to give the lead-in to 10.2, I'll post the cinematic in the next reply
They're all very grateful for everything, at least
Very weird how nobody did this big fanfare for poor Merithra though lol
All the (non-Kalec because he has a quest) Aspects have post-campaign dialogue. Sabellian and Wrathion have nothing lol
First three have clear set-up for the world tree, dragonspawn, and 10.1.5 story respectively at least so that's nice
And with that, 10.1's main story is done.
Ho boy do I have a lot to say and think over that I won't do here. All I can say is that it's really jarring to see how similar this is to Shadowlands' writing compared to the rest of Dragonflight's quests, and I wish I liked it more.
Side note: Kind of funny that 2/5 Aspects have identical color-swapped models right now lol
I know they'll be getting unique ones once they become proper Aspects but it's amusing.

Missing some Tweet in this thread? You can try to
force a refresh
It's very funny looking back at how blatantly evil Bolvar was in Legion compared to more recentstuff lol
Like come on man, you can't pass this off as "oh I was just doing it for The Balance :)" lmao
Also I still find it very funny that they made a whole ass HD Frostmourne just for this one scenario and nothing else
Maybe in the future they'll rectify that, now that we're fully done with Arthas and the Lich King. Put it on the Trading Post as a 'very convincing replica' lol
Okay, 10.2.5 time, here be spoilers. Feel free to mute this thread/me for the day, because I'll be covering *all* of it.
Starting with Vyranoth's reason for being Aspect of Storms, I like that it calls to her and Raszageth's interactions in the book.
Okay this is... literally everything I wanted from Wrathion this expansion, and god I wish they'd actually *told* this story beyond this conversation lol
Really hoping this is leading up to him joining us properly in TWW, and god is this *so* well choreographed/voiced, holy shit
Text version, for better ease of reading, but please listen to the voice acting and music, it is phenomenal, easily the best Stay a While and Listen the game has ever done
Finally home and free, wasn't lucky enough to get a pre-review copy so I'm doing it the old fashioned way on release day lol
Here be spoilers, but mostly out of context snippets I find interesting.
It's nice to see Tyranastrasz get a cameo, and some confirmation that he's an *old ass dragon* lol
(maybe one day his poor skull will be taken from a fucking dwarven museum and given back to the dragons lol)
The first chapter notes the "Dragonwilds" as surrounding the Broodlands/Dragon Isles, but the opening of it has it already existing as a totally independent island, just with Ohn'ahran Plains renamed (but also somehow still housing Maruukai?)
So, 10.1's campaign is over. I gave myself a day or so to compile my thoughts, and this will be where I air them out. Warning: this will be long thread lol
Like I've said in the past, I love most of 10.1, but the biggest pain point lies in the Black Dragonflight storyline.
To preface: I do not think the plot beats of 10.1 are inherently bad.
There is a feasible story for any of the three brothers becoming Aspect, and while Wrathion's plot was inarguably the most set up, a pivot to explore other sides of his character instead is a neat idea.
My issues pretty much entirely come down to execution, both on the larger narrative messaging and on the journey to get towards this conclusion.
I'm going to first go through my issues with each brother, and then the issues with the flight's story as a whole.
