In fact, no one in the administration or foreign policy establishment is that ignorant. Of course they know it was provoked. They wanted war as part of their strategic grand plan to destroy any country such as Russia that resists American imperial expansion.
They only pretend to think it was unprovoked. They are lying to us, manufacturing consent for war. The administration has dragged us into a proxy war on false pretenses. Does this mean Dr. Bertagnolli is personally corrupt? Not at all. But it does mean that she will probably represent the viewpoints and priorities of the pharmaceutical industry. That is how agencies are captured.
Oh, and guess what else? The White House left the Pfizer connection out of its announcement of the nomination. @TheChiefNerd has helpfully depicted what the announcement should have said.
