Jury has returned in the #Bliefnicktrial. Waiting as Keck had to get something from the SA’s Office that Jones forgot. Adrian makes a joke about all married women understanding and Jones points out his ex-wife in the audience.
Keck returns. Emily Pezzella, QPD CSI, is the next witness.
Pezzella explains her job and experience as a crime scene technician to the jury.
She was the crime scene at Becky Bliefnick’s home the night of her murder. #Bliefnicktrial
Pezzella confirms the photos in evidence were taken by her or another QPD officer.
Jones is presenting a layout of Becky’s home and photos of the crime scene. #Bliefnicktrial
Jones shows a photo of a patio chair moved to the side of the house by a first floor window. Also shows a second story window that appears to be broken and forced open. #Bliefnicktrial
Jones is showing the damaged window from the inside. There is a shoe print on the floor below the window. Also shows a piece of a grocery bag on the floor, a broke door to another room and shell casings on the floor. #Bliefnicktrial

Jones hands Pezzella the spent shell casings in evidence bags. She confirms they were the ones she found in Becky’s house. These were also sent to the State Crime Lab. Seven shell casings were tested for DNA and one was tested for fingerprints. #Bliefnicktrial
Pezzella explains that on many pieces of evidence, an investigator has to make a choice whether to test them for either DNA or fingerprints because of the limited surface availability of some evidence. Jones hands her a bag of small pieces of grocery bags, also sent to the lab.
Jones gives Pezzella the bullet fragments from the scene. She confirms she examined them and sent to the State Crime Lab as well. Also the bullets removed from Becky were included as well. #Bliefnicktrial
Pezzella said gun shot residue (GSR) from Becky wasn’t tested because Becky was shot multiple times. She also confirms GSR can be washed away with soap and water. She said such testing must be done within six hours. #Bliefnicktrial
