Abdul Hafeez Kardar was one of the only three players to have played cricket for both India and Pakistan. He was the first captain of the Pakistan cricket team.
The Lahore-born made his international debut while representing India against England in 1946.
He played 3 Test matches for India from his 27 Test matches.

Lala Amarnath, accepted an invitation from Kardar for tea on pak tour. Lala rested on the sofa with his back facing the door. Umpire Begh came in the room and asked Kardar, "Any instructions for tomorrow's game, skipper?"

He married twice, once to an English woman, Helen Hastilow, the daughter of the Warwickshire County Club chairman Cyril Hastilo and also to a Pakistani (Shahzadi), sister of Pakistani cricketer Zulfiqar Ahmed.
Kardar served as the president of the Pakistan Cricket Board from 1972 to 1977. In the last years of his life he was Pakistan's ambassador to Switzerland,prior to his death in his hometown, Lahore in 1996.
His full name was Mulvantrai Himmatlal "Vinoo" Mankad. He appeared in 44 Test matches for India b/w 1946 and 1959. He was An opening batsman and slow left arm bowler.
He is well known for getting the Indian team its first victory in a Test match. He will be always remembered for his performance vs Australia in 1947-48 when he scored a century in each innings of the Adelaide Test.
