The number of historic child sexual abuse cases from Armidale in NSW is horrific. Many were detailed in the royal commission but tonight’s #4corners adds even more evidence of a paedophile network that went untouched for over 30 years.
In particular the Armidale catholic diocese clearly harboured and protected serial paedophilies like John Joseph Farrell, whilst other predators like child psychologist Alan Huggins operated with impunity.

THREAD: Australia has a major problem with right wing Christian political influence. It's been bubbling away since John Howard was PM, with power brokers like Bruce Baird wielding their influence over the Liberal Party, hand picking the likes of Scott Morrison, and Stuart Robert.
My attention was first drawn to this when Steve Fielding joined 'Family First'. The Family First Party was a conservative political party in Australia from 2002 to 2017. The party was generally considered to be part of the Christian right.

The most thorough examination of this political trend in Australia has been written in this excellent book which I can highly recommend.

Advance Australia's Chief Operating officer is a unwoke bloke named Matthew Sheahan from Brisbane. He doesn't like 'Left Wing' campaigns like Getup or any LBGTIQ stuff, and fights every day to bring Australia back to it's proud white Menzie's era heritage.
Which is interesting because he is good friends with Tim James the Executive General Manager at Menzies Research Centre. Other friends of Matthew include well know right wing Australian propaganda columnist and pretend journalist Janet Albrechtsen. Image

THREAD: COVID-19 Testing in NSW

Before I start I want to say that I fully support and admire all the amazing health workers, pathologists, lab assistants, couriers, police, health professionals and everyone else who have been working so hard to protect the NSW Community.
5 days ago I noticed there was a lot of confusion about the way covid-19 testing numbers were being reported on so I decided to look into this, to try and make sense of it for myself. The first question I had was what method were @NSWHealth using to report these numbers.
@NSWHealth finally responded to @JoshButler who asked them to clarify their reporting method for covid-19 testing and they replied with the following message.

However Josh and others still seemed confused about testing v processing by the pathology labs.

@MarylouiseMcla1 Are you able to answer these questions about the reporting around NSW COVID19 testing? I have contacted @NSWHealth, several journalists, @BradHazzard plus other contacts but nobody has been able to provide me with any answers so far.
1: What the average time taken for all NSW COVID19 PCR test results for w/e 19th December?
2: What is the daily/weekly breakdown of all completed PCR tests by Public/Private pathology laboratory for w/e 19th December?

It's interesting @ScottMorrisonMP left Tourism Council of Australia (TCA) in 1998 at the same time that Bruce Baird entered Federal parliament. By December 1999, the TCA was technically insolvent, despite a questionable “start-up” loan of $2.3 million by the Howard government.
@ScottMorrisonMP It was eventually tipped into administration under Grant Thornton in December 2001 and disbanded. “The damage was done by Bruce and Scott,” a former staffer noted. In 1998, Morrison moved to New Zealand as the inaugural director of the newly created Office of Tourism and Sport.
@ScottMorrisonMP After a widely reported power struggle with the independent NZ Tourism Board a 1999 report by the NZ auditor-general criticised Morrison’s role, particularly his commissioning and handling of a report critical of the board.

Anyone watching the Netflix series called 'The Family' would have been shocked to learn about the political influence a secret fundamentalist christian sect were able to have on American policy for over 50 years.

While this seems a repudiation of Christian principles, those acting for God have different rules to follow than the rest of us. Doug Coe’s son and The Family’s heir apparent, David, explained what it meant to be a divinely chosen leader.
