I just went on @theJeremyVine BBC Radio 2 to argue with @Fox_Claire about the protests against "Gender Critical" activist @Docstockk giving a talk at Oxford University
"Baroness" Fox claimed that the GC movement don't want to take away trans peoples rights whilst herself...
supporting changing the EA2010 to remove trans women like me's protections from misogynistic sexism from it, and to make it legal to ban us from things like the women's toilets at work or university (which it is not legal to do today)
The fact that the @EHRC's proposed EA2010 change would take away my rights isn't just my opinion, it is the view of the EHRC themselves and was clearly stated in the original letter they wrote to the government
I'm not convinced that Nicola Sturgeon was "brought down by the GRA Reform" or that it was wrong for her to try and reform it (obvs), but I totally agree that most people don't care about trans rights and that focussing on them *for left or right* is not a vote winner
I don't think we've seen an example anywhere in the world, left or right, in any elections from the last decade where focussing on trans issues helped win. In a lot of cases (USA, Australia) it was just an expensive way to tell voters you're not interested in "real" issues
Obviously as a trans person trans rights are real issues to me. Without rights I can't live a normal and safe life. This is one of the most important things to me and I'm not down playing that for other trans people
But most people don't care either way. And that's a fact
Because several journalists have asked me about this now:
I don't think TalkTV downtuned my voice on purpose. I think there's a complex interaction between various software programs going on. I have had this issue one time before with @TalkHeathenlive. It never happens when...
I do my own show or talk to friends etc using the same setup and software. I imagine there is some professional studio setup program that is interacting with something at my end which is causing the problem. I can't be certain, but as it has happened once before with a team...
I trust deeply I suspect it's just software. What is annoying is that I thought we had resolved this after it happened on Talk Heathen. I even specifically checked the setup was correct to mitigate this before going on TalkTV, so if there are any sound engineers out there that...
