SB 254 banned nearly all new HRT prescriptions and refills of existing prescriptions for trans adults. Trans care bans were never about “protecting children” - they were about making all trans existence completely impossible: #SB254floridaban.com

Could a hundred thousand adults just pack up and leave New York? Or California? Then that's not an answer for Florida, the state with the second-largest trans adult population in the country: https://t.co/L7PtEUd1bafloridaban.com
Youth care bans impact a smaller slice of trans people: There are 6 trans adults in Florida for every 1 trans youth. The number affected by youth care bans *nationally* was 47,800.
Florida alone tripled that number in one day with a new adult care ban. https://t.co/aqF6yoQ5RDfloridaban.com
Trans adult care bans by state.
April 2023: Gender-affirming treatment can be prescribed to adults in all 50 states.
May 2023: De facto total ban on prescribing gender-affirming HRT to adults in Florida.
What will the map look like for you in June? https://t.co/WBcKxcuCvKfloridaban.com
“Genocide by attrition occurs when a group is stripped of its human rights, political, civil and economic. This leads to deprivation of conditions essential for maintaining health, thereby producing mass death.”
SB 254 is a de facto total adult trans care ban that has been in effect for 2 weeks, cutting off thousands of trans adults in Florida from their prescribed hormone therapy. There is currently no reliable route for trans adults to continue receiving HRT. () https://t.co/UhVP5o7oaTfloridaban.com
What can I do to improve the resources on that site for other trans people like me in Florida dealing with this, and for any of those allies who are still willing to help 100,000 trans Floridians when we really need it?
I know one of us, one of you, knows how to reach people
The proponents of one of the first trans care bans in Arkansas always knew that we will die when these laws pass. One of them is AR Rep. Robin Lundstrum, who spoke at a July 2021 "Gender Issues Policy Panel" of the Family Policy Alliance. Pages 74-75: https://t.co/HmWnaqJSlufiles.eqcf.org/wp-content/upl…
This is what Robin Lundstrum said to FPA about what would happen when trans youth are banned from accessing care:
"need care of a physician to help them work off the drugs; be prepared to be blamed when a child identifying as transgender commits suicide—it WILL happen"
She knows that after those trans care bans pass, and after trans youth lose access to their care, there will be trans people who die, who would not have died before that happened.
They know this kills us.
And that's the effective policy that was immediately rolled out to all 100,000 trans adults in Florida starting on May 17. That policy has been in effect for 15 days, or 360 hours. We don't know when that policy will no longer be in effect.
Please note, that isn't just the trans community saying that we will die because of these care bans.
This isn't just our allies saying that we will die because of these care bans.
This is an actual author of trans care bans secretly saying with emphasis: "it WILL happen".
So if we know it's going to happen, our friends know it's going to happen, and our enemies know it's going to happen, what's the reason anyone has for still saying that this isn't going to happen?
She was saying that when these health care bans pass, trans people will begin dying because of it. "it WILL happen"
She was telling her co-conspirators, in private, that they need to prepare for this like some PR issue that could come up rather than the end of a child's life
Note also the prominent role of the Heritage Foundation in launching the initial volley of trans youth care bans, on the same document where the legislator doing this to Arkansas said they know that we will die after these laws pass.
You might remember Heritage Foundation's friends at SPECINV, a company that coerced one of my followers, Eden Knight - an adult trans woman in the United States - to return to Saudi Arabia, where she was held captive by her family, forcibly detransitioned, and committed suicide
She died on March 12, which was about 11 weeks ago. Twitter only recently stopped recommending her account in the sidebar and saying I should follow her rollingstone.com/culture/cultur…
I barely even had a couple months to catch my breath after they killed someone I knew on here, before they pulled off the exact same thing in Florida
There just isn't an explanation here where the Heritage Foundation doesn't know exactly what they're doing to us
They appear fully aware that forced detransition is lethal. They also appear to have been premeditating this at great length
The national plot to kill trans rights, kill trans healthcare, and kill trans people is a tangible thing. It's not a miasma that settled over the world for mysterious reasons. It's the physical fact of specific people meeting at events and writing down how trans people would die.
It's surreal like reading something that happened in a Handmaid's Tale episode, and I'm one of the characters where you really don't want to watch what happens to her next
Do you feel that this will be valuable documentation for history, assuming they don't burn it all again?
Those groups were involved in a years-long plot to target and discredit WPATH's SOC with apparently bad-faith legal arguments intended to advance one side of a case in court. They passed off some of that work as *objective evidence evaluations* for AHCA genderanalysis.net/2023/05/the-fa…
And those AHCA reports were cited to justify SB 254, and that's how we got here.
There's been a near-complete fusion of far-right religious advocacy groups with actual agencies of the state. This includes one of Florida's hired experts blatantly copying and pasting whole paragraphs of his work for a hate group and billing AHCA for it genderanalysis.net/2023/05/andres…
We also know that the involvement of these hate group members with AHCA, the Florida Department of Health, and Boards of Medicine, was part of a unified plot that they wrote down, ending in "Care Effectively Banned" genderanalysis.net/2023/04/what-w…
So:
- Proponents of these bans always knew they just wanted trans care banned regardless of whatever happens in between
- And they acknowledge among themselves that this kills us
Therefore:
- Proponents of these bans had always wanted us to die
It would be very difficult to explain their behavior without the presence of any deadly intent, so it does make sense, but they even made sure to save the details of how they got together to design our deaths. We can actually see where it happened.
I found all of these things and reported on them so that the rest of you can be alert to what's going on and can protect yourselves from this ongoing severe threat to life. Do you believe that this is important to know? I'm in Florida. Trans Florida is important to protect.
Because Trans Florida will be doing our best to protect the rest of you every day so none of you ever have to experience what happened here
I'm Zinnia Jones, I'm a trans woman in Florida affected by SB 254, and I want you to go to and pick a local Florida fund up top to support. You can support clinics that still need to help their patients (like me), and litigation to protect us from SB 254floridaban.com
As for the Family Policy Alliance, a couple months ago they began openly discussing "the solution to" "transgenderism"
Is there a word that describes this plan and pattern of actions ("the solution") against an identifiable marginalized group, enacted via the state?
Alarming development in the US far-right's dehumanizing rhetoric against trans Americans: The Heritage Foundation is now suggesting that being trans can be caused by *toxoplasma infection* of the brain.

So Louis Appleby thinks the problem is that withholding gender-affirming medical treatment is *seen as* rejection. It's not a problem to him that this *actually is* a rejection of care for trans people. He thinks the problem is that trans people noticed! gov.uk/government/pub…
It's beyond insulting for him to suggest trans people and our "perceptions" are what's responsible for trans youth being genuinely distressed at the actual withholding of their medical care, a real thing that is in fact taking place regardless of anyone's "perception" of it
If @ProfLAppleby thinks the way to address trans people's distress at being denied medical care is for trans people to decide it's actually okay for us to be denied medical care, he has nothing of value to offer. He's facilitating NHS' institutional denial of our real experiences
Now that Finland has exported Kaltiala-style abusive anti-trans gatekeeping all over the western world, they're moving on to the next target: people who care about any injustice. Wouldn't you just be happier if you didn't care about what was happening? :') nypost.com/2024/03/17/lif…
Yes, what's happening to trans care in England and in Florida traces back to the influence of one Dr. Riittakerttu Kaltiala of the "tell me how you masturbate" clinic:
I've said it before: *This is a values problem.* They can churn out any amount of evidence that being aware of bad things and unremediated injustices in the world makes you less happy. Maybe it's true. You still can't get from that "is" to an "ought" of 'so just stop caring!'
At 39 minutes in, @clickforohio discusses meeting with Stephen Beck (cofounder of SEGM) and his wife Sharon Beck of Cardinal Support Network. Under the pseudonym Maria Polaris/Borealis, Sharon Beck has stated that she's "Still dreaming of running over the trans activists"
More from Sharon Beck/Maria Polaris/Maria Borealis of Cardinal Support Network, who has had closed-door meetings with Ohio Rep. Gary Click @clickforohio to discuss banning trans care
- The "trans trend" looks more like a logistic curve now leveling out
- Observed prevalence of medical and/or legal transition was "at most 0.5% per birth cohort for transgender men and 0.2% for transgender women" papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cf…
So that's what we're having a moral panic about? 99.5%+ of the population isn't transitioning
Rates of transition appear to be leveling out among all age groups:
They're heeeeeere! Start with no. 175 onward and learn about Stella O'Malley and Joe Burgo's involvement in Florida's trans care bans, covert coordination between the Florida Boards of Medicine and Vernadette Broyles' gang of detransitioners, and more: trans.so/docket/index.p…
