Law conference is requiring respirators versus....
Not one single respirator. Not one on the faces of any #WHA76 attendee.

There will be huge law conference with every single lawyer in respirators, but not at the @WHO.
@DrTedros at #WHA76 called to protect HCWs from violence and discrimination.

Of course, nothing about protecting them from airborne "Vid".

Protecting them from the rapid onset of dementia, Alzheimer's in the "long-term". In the short-term, the severe cognitive dysfunction
affectionately known as brain fog.

Which is incredibly ironic as this was the world's first global #IPC accord.

And as part of it, the WHO and all signatories call for visible leadership engagement.

Of course, having leadership in respirators would clearly...well, lead. Also, promote and raise awareness. Image
The truly ironic part?

They state that IPC measures are effective. Which they are - if used. Image
And used appropriately.

Because the WHO is still calling for droplet protections for the unnamed disease (algorithm hack).

Which brings us to the why.

The WHO IPC committee is controlled by Conly, who has hired Heneghan and Jefferson to run the evidence gathering to determine the efficacy of N95s versus surgical masks.

All three have shown they are Antimaskers via their words and deeds.

And yet, they control how the
WHO recommends N95s.

If I were in the WHO, I would pause for a moment, and wonder why they are odds with the CDC's NIOSH who states that surgical masks are not PPE for aerosols or airborne diseases.

THE DIY HOOD HEPA.

One of my favorite concepts that you can DIY at home if someone gets Covid.

Top ventilated HEPA. (Really can just change how it's taped up, so even side exhaust will work. Even a CR box could be used (albeit single or double filter version).)
Duct tape.
PVC. Image
Add that up and you get drastic reduction of Covid floating in the air - AT THE SOURCE.

I spotted this in other studies long ago, but this version is from here:

@PaulSaxMD - thank you for the excellent write-up on Loeb at al (2022).

I have a separate criticism from an aerosol perspective. Loeb had donning and doffing at 3 feet.

A surgical mask is not actually Respiratory Protective Equipment (NIOSH) due to not being fitted.
/1
So its effectiveness will not be as diminished as much as an N95's.

Donning am N95 after walking into a room where an unmasked patient has been even just breathing? And donning at only 3 feet away?

An asbestos abatement technician would be fired.

Would a BSL3 lab worker
don at only 3 feet away from a infected participant in the lab?

This is what we have to assume happened as this was the method documented in Loeb 2022- and 2009.

Influence the CDC and influence the world.

Influence the HICPAC, and influence the CDC.

I'm hoping some high-level names will comment because they are pushing for surgical masks for "seasonal coronaviruses" and the flu.

@brosseau_lisa @HuffmanLabDU
their position.

If I may be so bold as to point out? Both studies had donning and doffing at 3 feet.

2022 with Covid, also required a fever or cough.

Making the case for the #CorsiRosenthalBox with studies.

A simple thread.
"no U.S. Energy Star certified air cleaners have CADR values (for either tobacco smoke, dust, or pollen) matching the CADR value for the CR Box even on low speed "

On cost? 1/10th.

1019 to 1444 m3/hr CADR.

(600 to 850 ft3/min)

Published here:

An incredibly thorough study published in February 2023, with all of its authors from @NIOSH.

With universal masking in a 3-ply cotton mask, exposure to the relevant aerosol size is reduced by 88 to 94%, with the #CorsiRosenthalBox.

73% w/ CRBox alone.

I retweeted this, but wanted to add something.

Due to the immuno-evasiveness of SC2, that 600M is just on the first go-around.

These are the thoughts that keep me up at night reading transmission studies, thinking about how to prevent transmission - and tweeting all of it.
And I have to add something.

Kids.

"These data suggest that rapid clearance of SARS-CoV-2 in children may compromise their cellular immunity and ability to resist reinfection."

And we know kids pop at least at 10% for LongCovid, the first time.
/2

Got any kids in school?

If there's a 10% chance of LongCovid for any infection for a child, how many infections until your child is likely to catch LongCovid?

12 times. 👇.

But what if the initial 10% chance turns to 20% on reinfection?

4 times. 👇

And who has that ImageImage

A 🧵on near field ( < 6 feet) and far field (>6 feet) aerosols. (To be perfectly frank, this one's for me, but you are invited along the ride into my noggin).

Both airborne, and both important.

Let's start with tweets from aerosol and IAQ scientists.
Do aerosols even matter?

Yes. Millions of infectious aerosols emitted per hour in this Dr. Mowaska (technically Ma et Al) study:

The variants are evolving to be better at transmission.

Here we find Alpha to have 18-fold more fine aerosols shed than previous.
