🧵Sensible Transfers: #TownTeamTogether

Crawley Town are another highly requested League 2 side

Here are 5 players they could look at based on YOUR suggestions

Remember to comment your team + 5 positions below Image
GK: Joe Wollacott

Currently back up at Charlton, the Ghanaian international may feel a drop in division is needed in order for him to find regular minutes

A strong shot stopper,Wollacot has a wealth of experience despite being just 26. Either a loan or permanent deal would work Image
CB: Omar Sowunmi

A colossal central defender, Sowunmi is out of contract at Bromley so could be approached on a free, which imo would be smart business

A leader at the back, Sowunmi is brilliant in the air, owing to his huge frame. A threat from set pieces too, a quality option Image
CM: Zak Brunt

We saw his midfield partner George Broadbent move to Doncaster Rovers earlier today, and I believe Brunt is more than good enough to make that jump too

A creative player with brilliant technique, Brunt has shown this season he can do the ugly stuff too Image
LW: Rayhaan Tulloch

22 year old winger Tulloch had a decent loan spell with Dundalk this season, and I feel he will be ready to go back into League 2 again

A tricky left winger, he would add dribbling ability out wide. Again, either a loan or permanent deal could work here Image
ST: Jahmari Clarke

Crawley have Dom Telford up top, so I thought they should look to add something a little different up top

Reading youngster Clarke is still under contract, so another loan may be needed. At 6ft3 Clarke is an imposing forward, with a good minutes to goal record Image

Jack Wilshere recently left Norwich City in order to pursue a career as a Head Coach

His playing career is well documented; but what is he like as a coach? How does he want his teams to play?

Here we analyse how he set Norwich up, including rotations, press & more

[THREAD] 🧵 Image
The first thing to note is that this is an extremely small sample size; he was in charge for just 2 games

1 of those games was against 10 men for the vast majority

He’s also only been a senior coach for less than a season; so is likely still learning Image
Wilshere sets his side up in a 4-3-3 / 4-1-4-1 shape, with a single midfielder sitting at the base of the midfield 3

His sides build from the back, with this single DM the sole passing option

As we will see with the rotations he likes to use, his system is fluid, especially down the left hand side, where Nunez likes to peel wideImage

Sensible Transfers: Cambridge United

I was asked to do a total rebuild for #CamUtd - so there are a lot of signings suggested here!

Some more ambitious than others! Let me know what club + 3-5 positions to do next! (I will get round to them dw!)

[THREAD] 🧵 Image
GK - Archie Mair

Despite being from Scotland, Mair has spent the majority of his career at Norwich

He’s shown himself to be a very capable keeper at L2 level previously, and at 24, he’s certainly one for the future too. He’s on a free as well Image
GK - Nik Tzanev

Let go by rivals Northampton Town, Tzanev would be a very good option in goal for this level

If the fact he’s turned out recently for their rivals can be looked past, Tzanev has well over 100 EFL appearances to his name already. Wouldn’t have to move too far eitherImage

Last weekend, Joselu played in the Champions League final, ending on the winning side

8 years ago he played in another final; the Development League Cup final

Both sides are packed with interesting players; but the question is, where are they now? 🤔

[THREAD] 🧵 Image
Dale Eve
Age: 29
Position(s): GK
Nation: England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
Club: Walsall Wood

We start off in non league, with Walsall Wood stopper Eve

He’s also a Bermudan international, and has had 18 clubs in his career so far Image
Phil Bardsley
Age: 38
Position(s): RB
Nation: England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
Club: Retired

Barnsley was still playing in 2023, at Stockport, but he announced 12 months ago that he would retire

At this point he was already a PL regular; where he would spend the vast majority of his extensive career Image

They’ve signed players from 1, 2 & 3 leagues below

Brought players in from the 2nd tier of Denmark & USA

Everyone had them tipped to finish bottom

Yet Crawley Town are now on the cusp of the playoffs

Here is the story of arguably the best recruitment in League 2

[THREAD] 🧵 Image
Rome wasn’t built in a day. A playoff achieving squad isn’t built overnight.

It takes several windows at this level to get it right

As a result we will be going through the last 2 seasons to see how Crawley have crafted this squad Image
Corey Addai
Age: 26
Position(s): GK
Signed From: Esbjerg

We start with a sensational piece of scouting. Addai was signed from the Danish 2nd tier

Statistically he’s been absolutely superb this season. They have themselves a top goalkeeper Image

🧵DANIEL CROWLEY - #Notts

Luke Williams’ latest recruit is attacking midfielder Crowley

He’s especially interesting as he’s spent much of his career in the Netherlands

Here is a thread on the new man, and what we can expect from him 👇 Image
The Key Stats

Age: 25
Height: 5ft9
Last Club: Morecambe
Position: AM (as shown in graphic)

22/23 (League One):
Games: 21
Goals: 2
Assists: 5
1.25 Chances Created per 90
671 passes completed (87% accuracy)
8 tackles won (73% accuracy) Image
The first thing that catches the eye about Crowley is the speed and quickness of his movement. In particular, how quickly he’s able to manipulate the ball by shifting his feet

Here he completely takes the defender out of the game, opening the space for a perfectly weighted pass

🧵When Cole Stockton (@cstockton94) signed for #BAFC I expected the reaction to be overwhelmingly positive

It was in fact mixed, which surprised me

So here is a thread showing why I believe Burton fans should be optimistic about their new signing 👇 Image
Firstly, he is a player capable of the spectacular. He’s able to grab the game and win points single handedly with moments like this

7 of his 11 goals came in his final 4 games; he almost single handedly kept Morecambe up
Stockton is a big forward, over 6ft. But his improvisation is always so impressive, especially when it involves acrobatics

Here he reacts so quickly, capitalising on an opportunity with a spectacular finish
