You deserve the success you seek, you also deserve to have the benefits that come with success

A good bank account, a stable social and family life etc etc

What I want to talk about today specifically is the money portion of success
All too often I see students and other IA's myself included go on to make great money each paycheck but find a way to lose the money through bad habits.

Here's what those habits look like

1) Inability to say no to family and friends when they ask for money.
This is the financial equivalent to a death by 1000 cuts. That $50 here $20 there starts to add up after a few months. We gotta learn to say no if we want to keep the fruits of our labor
2) Eating out/Ordering out Y'all have no idea how many times I justified spending $20 on breakfast $30 on lunch and $50 on dinner because I felt like I deserved it because I was working so hard.
3) Trying to get out of debt TOO FAST I understand you want to pay back your debts but the issue arises when you have a 3 month deployment and you pay back all of your debts. You're feeling good and the deployment is over and you have less than $1k in your account.
Ask me how I know this situation

I've been there before and I hated to be in that situation

That's why I hope you all take heed to this email so you can avoid being

All of these things can add up to wreck your bank account

As always I hope this helps

I’ve traveled extensively and let me tell you what most won’t

It’s a waste of time

most places will blend together in your mind and you won’t even remember you went unless you see a photo of yourself
No one actually cares to see the photos from the last trip you went on

No one cares about the story of the one funny cab driver you met that time.

It’s much better ways to spend a couple grand at a time.

Why do I say this?
Because most people aren’t actually traveling. They are consuming

They Take a few photos, visit a museum or 2, eat an overpriced local dish at some tourist trap

Exclusively talk to the service workers at whatever hotel, resort, tourist spot they’re staying at then

Always confirm how IA firms pay their adjusters

One thing that can catch adjusters off guard whether they are taking a deployment, in the field, desk or remote is the schedule of when you will get paid
IA firms pay in varying ways and if you don’t know when they pay BEFORE you accept the deployment you can put yourself in a bad spot financially

Always confirm how IA firms pay their adjusters
For desk adjusters and Remote adjusters you’ll normally see Pay schedules that look like this

Payments on the 1st and the 15th

Payments every 2 weeks

Weekly payments

Desk adjusters usually get paid as hourly employees but you will also see desk adjusters get paid by day rate ex:  $500 per day. On rare deployments you’ll see Desk adjusters get paid per claim that is closed.
(for file review deployments you’ll also see adjusters get paid per claim that’s been completed)

Per diem is offered at some IA firms NOT ALL when an IA travels over 150 miles to work in office, this isn’t a rule however and you’ll need to confirm with the firm before you
accept the deployment if per diem is offered on the deployment ( this does not apply for remote deployments). Normally you won’t be offered per diem on field deployments but always ask when accepting your deployments

SKILLS PAY THE BILLS

One thing I've noticed over my career as an Independent adjuster that separates a regular adjuster and successful adjusters is a certain set of skills .
Unfortunately for many well meaning hardworking new adjusters, they don't automatically know these skills when they begin their first deployment and because of their lack of skill they get released early. Never realizing their true earning potential

BUT

I have a solution
3 DAY IA BOOT CAMP

I'm hosting a 3 day Live training centered around helping New IA's learn the skills they need to stay on deployments long term like:

📝How to write proper file notes
📞How to handle insureds on the phone
📑How to interpret policy

Hank,

You were a friend to many people and I’m lucky I got to be one of them.

I enjoyed all our conversations about our careers, manhood, relationships, izm, and life in general

You helped so many people these last few years and I’m thankful our last conversation
Was about you finding a way to try to help people yet again

When I got the news you passed today it hit me pretty hard

Thought about all the talks we had, all the goals you had in this life

And ultimately it made me think about how much you’ve grown as a man.
I hate that you don’t get to continue down the path you were headed because the world would have gotten to see you shine at an even higher level.

I’m going to miss you so much my brother @HankorJefe rest in paradise

I was having a conversation about the passport bro thing with a fellow expat friend of mine and here’s what we had to say about guys leaving the states to find love

90% of the time it’s not going to actually work in the way these guys think it does.
First off

Long distance relationships as a rule don’t work unless one party moves closer quickly

Now add in cultural differences and a language barrier

You’re going to have a hard time building something real with a woman outside of the states.
I’ve seen guys call women their girlfriends and they don’t speak a word of her language and they only communicate through google translate.

That’s not how deep connections are made

So what ends up happening is both parties end up filling a role that neither one actually is
