Allan Octavian Hume is a retired British ICS officer and the founder of the Indian National Congress.

He formed Indian National Congress in December 28, 1885

He is known as the father and founder of the INC

Hume was the son of a reformer, himself a civil servant at Haileybury in the east India company. He was posted in India 8 years before the 1857 mutiny. The district to which he was posted, Etawah, suffered the most.

In its October 1963 issue, Playboy ran an extensive interview with Nehru titled “a candid conversation with the architect of modern India.”

In it, Nehru expounded exhaustively on a wide range of topics The interview was both substantive and revealing, but not without controversy

It's said that the Indian Embassy in Washington came into action to try to stop the publication of the interview in Playboy.

So Playboy magazine decided to add an “editor’s note” on page 3.

Lt. Gen. SPP Thorat reported about China’s threat to India border on October 8, 1959. Thorat, then responsible for the Eastern Command, sent a paper on the defence of NEFA ( North East Frontier Agency) to the Army Chief who forwarded it to the Defence Minister Krishna Menon.

Not only that, on March 17, 1960, Lt Gen SPP Thorat, commanding the Eastern Command, conducted a military exercise called “Exercise Lal Quila” that accurately predicted timing & nature of a possible Chinese attack

It was attended by all Principal Staff Officers from Army HQ.

Ambedkar did not fit the Congress-Left definition of secularism. For Congress and Nehru, as well as the Dravidian parties, only those who criticize Hindus are considered secular, so he did not fit that hegemonic definition of who is secular.
