It's June 4th, so let's talk about the Tiananmen square incident.

So let's hear from the guy who took the famous Tank Man photograph.

Pay close attention from 0:26 sec of the video as he describes how the violence started.

A comprehensive thread on how the violence started.🧵
The violence started on the night of June 3rd, the insurrectionist mobs were executing soldiers.

LET ME REPEAT THAT

The violence were started by the mobs that executed soldiers in the capital city of China

They also hijacked armored vehicles armed with heavy machine guns
This was from the night of June 3rd

As the Photographer of the Tank Man stated, the mobs were executing soldiers with clubs at first. Image
This was a PLA truck that had its engine stalled, the violent mob then started stoning the drivers to death.
As the violence of the insurrectionists grew, they started to use weapons on the PLA.

The Army was forced to fire back.

Let me reiterate it again, this was an armed insurrection in China's capital city, right by the National People's Congress Image
A PLA soldier killed by the mob, and another armed soldier being dragged away by the mob.

I have photos that showed the charred remains of PLA soldiers, executed by the mob, but for the sake of everyone here, I won't post them

You can find them online Image
The Tiananmen square incident have always been lied about in the West

Portrayed as a "peaceful" protest, when it was an armed insurrection in the capital of China

The January 6 United States Capitol attack were nothing in comparison, and yet the US labelled it an "insurrection" ImageImage
If you have any doubt about the lies you've been told

Here's Hou Dejian, one of the student organizers of the incident.

He stayed in the square until the last moment on June 4th, and he didn't see any shooting or killing of unarmed students
Here's the Nobel peace prize laureate Liu Xiaobo, corroborating Hou Dejian's statement

The fighting were not in or near the square, it was in the streets of Beijing.

And I was not against unarmed civilians, it was against armed insurrectionists where started killing soldiers.

China is the oldest continuous civilization.

This label is best encapsulated by the Twenty-Four Histories.

Which are a set of historical records, covering the entire dynastic history of China

Whole set contains 3,213 volumes and about 40 million words
1/5 Image
Historical records before Tang Dynasty, were selected bodies of work.

Since Tang Dynasty, every succeeding dynasty wrote the official history of the preceding dynasty.

It covers the Chinese history, from the perspective of the ruling dynasty from 3000BC to Ming Dynasty
2/5
The last Imperial Dynasty, Qing Dynasty is not included because the "Draft history of Qing" that was supposed to be written by the Republic of China was interrupted by war.

When compiling the Draft history of Qing, the then Beiyang government of the ROC were also very biased

We are headed of a major global conflict.

The continued economy warfare against China is an undeclared war against the entire global south.

Without a rich and developed China, the global consumer base won't expand rapidly.

Which makes China the champion of the global south..🧵 Image
Without a rapidly expanding consumer base.

Any efforts made by any country in the Global South to become industrialized, will not succeed.

Especially when the purchasing power remains at the hands of the stagnate populations of the West.
So China is the champion for all the exploited and the downtrodden, which makes up 80% of the global population.

Industrialized countries will fight over the stagnant consumer market, leaving others with only scraps Image

The China punching bag theory🙄

The Right wing hates China for having influence over Hollywood, simply because of our market size.
They think we like the Hollywood appeasement.

The Liberals hates China because of the perceived racism & the alleged anti-woke views of China.
🧵
My suggestion is, how about start treating the Chinese people as normal human beings, with individual agency?

Instead of this hivemind trope when looking at China?

Most Chinese don't care about your cultural war, to us, the little mermaid is just a movie.
Some in China might make fun of it, and ridicule the look of the actress, but others would say she's pretty.

Some think Ariel should be white, while others are fine with more diversity.

The Chinese will always have our own opinion based off of our own cultural context.

If you were to ask any Chinese, what's their biggest source of stress?

Most, especially young people would say, "the expensive property market".

In reality, the expensive property and high stress, is only the symptom of a deeper cause in China's economy...🧵 Image
In China, there is this phenomenon called 内卷.

There isn't a very good English translation, but it describes a situation where competition is so fierce, that people compete for the sake of competing.

And not always for the benefit of innovation or higher productivity.
This type of fierce, unproductive competition and high property price, is common in North East Asia (China, Japan and South Korea).

What do all 3 have in common?
1️⃣Huge population centers in the form of huge cities
2️⃣Uneven distribution of industry within each countries Image

The few remaining Soviet aesthetics in the Chinese navy:

A refitted Sovremenny class destroyer, Hangzhou.

It switched the 2 single-arm SAM launchers, with 32 HQ-16 VLS, as well as the FL-3000N (24 cell)

Giving it a total of 56 SAMs ready to launch, up from the previous 2 SAMs Image
Other changes includes swapping the Moskit anti-ship missile for the YJ-12, a new radar system, as well as new CIWS

The 2 formidable twin-barrel AK-130 guns were kept.
Nothing is currently better at pounding shore targets than the AK-130

Top Chinese refitted vs original Russian Image
The Russian Navy is moving towards smaller more flexible surface platforms, preferring Frigate sized ships with large firepower.

But if they want to keep some of their large surface combatants, then refitting them is cheaper than designing and building new ones

The west in their typical short sightedness caused by their 4 or 5 year election cycles, have completely misjudged the Belt and Road initiative.

Determining its outcome mere 10 years into it, when it's at least a 100 year project...🧵 Image
The Short term goal🎯

Is to export the excess capacity in China's construction industry, as Chinese infrastructure is already rather saturated

To prevent construction companies and its suppliers from losing business, the government funds overseas projects
The Medium term goal🎯

Is to diversify China's connection to the rest of Eurasia, from relying on Sea route to a safer combination of land an sea.

This requires linking the railway network in different countries, the recent central Asia link have been approved by all sides Image
