Okay please hear me out (tw divorce) #wangxian being like the /coolest/ fucking co parents.
Lan Sizhui having zero hesitation inviting both dads to his school event. WangXian hug, catch up, are cordial. People mistake them and think they are together.
“If only I could be so lucky,” Lan Wangji would reply.
Wei Wuxian’s face would turn beet red. “Lan Zhan please!”
Sizhui doesn’t know the details and he’s never asked. Just that his parents were better apart than they had been together. Maybe because they got together so young.
So much of the world and themselves they needed to discover. Their relationship just didn’t work out but they were the best of friends for is. And Sizhui had to admit he had the most amazing childhood.
As the years pass and he gets older he notices more and more his alpha dad
staying glued to his phone. Seemingly getting messages around the clock.
His omega father always happy. Always giggling or laughing or smiling. More than just normal happiness but more like his life was better. Though Lan Sizhui had yet to see what could have changed.
Starting highschool, he starts to notice the longing looks between the two.
Lan Sizhui someone constantly leaving things at one parents house so they other had to drive it over because their son needs it!
**Sizhui is a weird kid in the sense he /never/ misplaces anything. If
his backpack is left at Lan Wangji’s house, he’s pretty sure his a-die hid it but he won’t burst their bubble.
“You know…” Sizhui says to Wei Wuxian. “You should start dating don’t you think?”
The omega freezes unnaturally still then squints his eyes at Sizhui. “Did your
A-die tell you to say that?”
Sizhui gasps. “No!” Because no Lan Wangji didn’t but damn why was that babas first thought?!
Something… was going on.
The next day at lunch he tried to ask his friends for help.
“I don’t even understand how they divorced in the first place.
Your dads are hot.” Lan Jingyi said taking a bite of his sandwich.
“There is more to marriage than someone’s looks you blockhead.” Jin Ling threw a chip across the table.
“Also, don’t talk about them like that.” Sizhui added.
He wasn’t going to meddle into what his parents
got up to but he had wanted it to be known he was okay if they got back together or even saw other people Sizhui just wanted them to be happy.
“What would you do?” Sizhui asks Jin Ling.
“What do you mean? I have my mom and jiujiu.”
Lan Jingyi cackled. “You have a dad too.”
Jin Ling glared. “Yea but he’s in love with my mom and hardly counts on my radar. If someone wanted to date jiujiu though… I think I’d have to kill them.”
Lan Sizhui closes his eyes and exhales. Sometimes he forgets exactly who his friends are.
**somewhere in the distance jzx starts crying and has no clue why
// … ok so like do we wanna keep going 👀
Lan Wangji paced in his kitchen. His phone on the counter where he had dropped it like a hot potato when he read Wei Ying’s text.
The forever love of my life🥺:
Lan Zhan! Did you tell our son that we should start dating again?!
And now the alpha is /stressed/. Unsure if Wei
Ying is upset their son said it at all or it coming from Lan Wangji. He didn’t know!
After their divorce they’d promised to stay friends and be their for Sizhui. Wei Ying made it so … easy. Always a smile, always putting their son above anything else, always himself.
Lan Wangji had been gutted when the omega had slid divorce papers across the table. They just couldn’t make it work.
“Lan Zhan I grew up in a house with parents who fought all the time. I don’t want that for Sizhui.”
So Lan Wangji had signed because Wei Ying was right. Their
son was their world and Lan Wangji figured maybe one day, in the future they could try again. That’s what he told himself as he signed the line and dissolved their union.
It had been 8 years, 5 months, 13 days, and 5 hours since it was officially over between them. Lan Wangji
had given Wei Ying the house. He still saw his son every weekend and when Sizhui started school, they split up who would pick up and drop off the boy - both of them took him to school on the first day. Nonnegotiable for both of them.
The hardest thing for Lan Wangji was holding
back from touching Wei Ying. Not even sexually (though he missed that as well) but holding Wei Ying’s hand, cheering for their child and wrapping his arm around the omegas waist.
He didn’t date. His brother had tried to set him up, his uncle even making comments that Lan Wangji
should try again. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to date it’s just he’d rather be alone than fake an attraction. And let’s face it, being with anyone else would be just that.
So he focused on work, on family, on bettering himself and deepening his relationship with Wei Ying.
As both co parents and friends. Something they’d lost between being married and raising their son.
His spiral was interrupted by the front door being unlocked. Sizhui.
“Hey I’m home.” His son walked into the kitchen and Lan Wangji wasn’t sure what his face showed but Sizhui
froze. “Oh… did Baba text you?”
Lan Wangji tried to seem relaxed. He doubted he could pull it off. “What exactly did you say to him?”
Sizhui shrugged, “Just that if he wanted to date I’d be fine with it. You too a-die. You’ve both been taking care of me but what will you
both do when I go off to college?”
Lan Wangji hadn’t thought of that. Sizhui was their buffer and without him would he even see Wei Ying anymore?!
This was not a conversation for his son though.
“I appreciate the sentiment but our personal lives are not something you should
worry about. Wei Ying and I will be fine.”
Lan Sizhui didn’t look like he believed his father. “Well I’m going to start my homework but you both should hang out. With each other or someone else, preferably a date but your life can’t just be me and work.”
Lan Wangji blinked as
his son walked away. And Lan Wangji still didn’t know how to reply to the message.
Wei Ying was sensible. He had to know Lan Wangji didn’t orchestrate their son to saying anything… right?
He started to type, thumbs hovering over the keys, deleting and retyping.
After the 7th
try, his phone started to ring.
[Incoming Call from: The forever love of my life🥺]
Fuck! The alpha dropped his phone (again). The screen staring up at him buzzing. He needs to answer it. But what can he even say? What would Wei Ying ask? Lan Wangji never bought into the
whole alphas in charge thing but damnit he is an alpha he should at the very least be able to answer a call from his omega…
His omega? No. Lan Wangji shook his head. Wei Ying wasn’t his, not anymore.
“Okay, just a normal convers-“ Before he could click to accept the call,
it went to voicemail. He took too long to answer.
“Fuck.”
// ok but come on panic alphaji is bby okay 🥹🤭

The headcanon of Lans being so strong, so smart, so talented but having like one oddly specific flaw is /everything/ to me.
By far my favorite is the “not handy”.
Can lwj lift a whole couch by himself? Of course!
Assemble ikea furniture? Absolutely not. Instructions and video
pulled up and for some reason he ends up with 15 extra screws and the table is wobbly.
Can lxc win first place in a music competition? Easily.
Fix a squeaky door hinge? Nope. The door is now is 7 pieces which seems weird as doors don’t come in pieces like that but lxc did it!
Sprinkle in the fact of them being accident prone but /only/ when trying to build or fix something 🤭🤣
Lwj holding a hammer- suddenly the hammer has flown out of his hand and is in the wall behind him 😵💫

“Where is he?” Wei Wuxian’s voice booming in the throne room.
He’s still in full armor, his sword still wet from the enemy. There is a
fire in him that will not settle until he sees the prince.
They had been betrayed. There was no other reason that the defenses around the prince were so thin. Wei Wuxian shouldn’t have even been able to see him.
Surrounded. The prince was to be protected on all sides by
his guard but somehow the formation had changed.
Surrounded. The prince was flanked by enemy forces and a single man against dozens is never a happy sight.
At one moment, Wei Wuxian had glanced up, by chance catching the princes eye.

The door slams and Lan Wangji felt it to his core. The sound of a car revving in the driveway and he knows it’s Wei Ying’s car leaving.
Because he said he was done.
Because his husband decided that he wasn’t good for Lan Wangji
anymore and that it would be best if he left. If they divorced.
If he wasn’t Lan Wangji’s husband anymore.
What was the appropriate reaction here? Lan Wangji felt as if the oxygen in the room had been sucked out. Like he was a shell of himself, frozen unable to move,

“Stop assuming! Let him get his dick wet and get your hole wrecked! Fucking hell!”
Okay. I know what you’re thinking because Lan Wangji thought the same thing. Surely, that was someone else’s voice but no… that was Wei Ying.
Lan Wangji was in his room, Wei Ying down the hall in his own room. He wanted to ask Wei Ying… what he meant but he didn’t know what Wei Ying had yelled at.
A book. A movie. Porn.
What if Lan Wangji knocked on the door and Wei Ying was jacking off and just got carried away.
{Okay… that sounds like your own wishful thinking}.
The odds of having the same roommate all 4 years of university (without submitting a request) is damn near impossible.
{Leave it to Wei Ying to attempt the impossible.}
And on top of the universe/obviously/ pushing them
