Red line is loop line

Coromandel express was running at 128 kmph speed on green line and was supposed to go straight on green line since it had green signal

There was a goods train already parked on the loop line (red colour)

Now u need to understand what is the interlocking system

Suppose if Railway wants to divert train from green (main) line to red (loop) line then it's done by automatic software controlled interlocking system

These r the interlocks that divert train from one track to another track

India has one of the world's best interlocking control systems n it never malfunctioned

Now let's come to Coromandel express

What happened that night

Coromandel express was going with a speed of 128 kmph on main line

It had a green signal n was supposed to go straight

But then something mysterious happened in interlocking system software

it automatically diverted coromandel from green to red line where good train was parked

Interlocking system is fool proof

It cant malfunction unless someone deliberately changes its embedded logic in software

Everything was meticulously planned

Someone deliberately changed commands of interlocking system

The person was well aware that same time
