I have spoken with politicians, wrote years of reports, met with chiefs and pipekeepers and went to NEB, Supreme Court hearings defending water. This was years before I ever heard of Darryl Leroux. I have a duty to protect. My family are Indigenous people.

We have a history that predated Canada by 240 years. We have always been mixed Mi’kmaw and Acadian because Charles Robin controlled us and made sure of that. This is me in my father’s arms. Me with my sisters. My grandparents and uncles in the photos here.

This woman came to Waterloo and lied about Acadians taking over Mi’kmaw fishing areas. My Acadian folks never violated fishing rules. We had a time and place to fish and a way that predated Canada to keep stocks sustainable. I was kettled and assaulted at this event.

My assault followed the time Darryl Leroux came to speak to the Waterloo Separate school board. Many maritime folks live in Waterloo Region who were part of clothing manufacturing in 1950’s. On chat boards people were upset about Leroux in Waterloo. He stokes racism.

Gaspe was the winter hunting grounds. Caraquet summer food clams & fish, etc. After land grant the Gespek district of Mi'kma'ki was divided with upper and lower Canada and later provincial lines. Gerrymandering prevents the access to NB repository to verify our Métis status.

When my people got land grants they divided our winter hunting grounds from summer fishing area with Upper and Lower Canada and later with Provincial lines of over Mi’kma’ki & Acadian territories. My family in Quebec are Métis via Francois David but St Boniface lacks NB info.

Our NB census date further impaired because people hid fearing another deportation.

Red River cart was once the Bateaux de péche de Caraquet. Thanks to my dad's friend Fernand Chaisson for the photo from 1930’s. Big wheels for beach rocks. Sides designed to drain water to haul in fish, whale, or cargo from the boats. Made of oak.

This Acadian cart was made of oak to avoid mould. When the genocides began the wood changed to spruce as we headed west bound.

We fished and whaled with the Sami people of Denmark. Many Acadians in my line were Norman of Gaul in France. Rollo the Viking in my family tree. Mi’kmaw, Sami & Acadians wore sashes and same textiles/fashion because we were of Vatican trade & families. The 2nd photo are Sami.

The reason the deportation was illegal was because it was an illegal kin on kin war. It’s time for Canada to own it. The Métis lines of this arrangement remain. My family still exists. We remembered our history.

I have spoken with chiefs, and Haudenosaunee men's fire, leaders of churches, politics, Dakota and Lakota and Mohawks, Ojibwe and other tribes for many years to share my history. The abuses of Acadia went all the way to Standing Rock the same way. We need to advance together.
