Let’s assume he can find an apartment for the two of them at median rate. Not the case in many parts of the country but sure. That’s 1200 for a 1br. If you have any real world experience, that’s a shitty little apartment but we’re living like monks to make the dream come true.

The cheapest, shittiest car on the market is the Mitsubishi Mirage for 16k. I looked it up; payments offered to me are 400/mo. Insurance is 250 for me but I drive like a demon with many convictions. Let’s say 600 for all car expenses including gas for efficient shitbox mirage.

I spend 180/wk on groceries for two people but I refuse to buy poison, could cut that back to 150. So let’s say 600 for groceries, and that’s with real scrimping and saving. My electric bill, I use frugally, is 150/mo now. Very basic phone and internet plan, another 150

So now we can save 1300 a month with absolutely zero hobbies, drinking, vacations, dates or leisure activities whatsoever. Work, come home to crappy apartment, eat, bang gf, sleep. That’s your life. Let’s call it 1200 considering unexpected expenses and we save a frugal 14,400/yr
