This modern fable of "we can't afford to have children" is trivially refuted by noting that fertility is inversely correlated with income in every western country

You just don't actually want kids and are rationalizing your choice with money Image
Putting several thousand a month into retirement accounts while not paying down debt and then complaining about the debt is idiotic

Stop saving for retirement and your debt is gone in <5 years

People make choices and then act like a gun was being held to their head Image
"We need to make $500k to afford the same number of kids as families making $35k" is an argument marshalled by people sleepwalking through their life choices and desperately rationalizing their own dumb behavior

I should probably note that I actually feel a lot of sympathy for people in this position

They were sold a fake shitty life narrative from an early age and are discovering pretty late that it's bogus

We need better cultural norms that lead to people making better choices

Mass female college enrollment has been a disaster for women's marriage prospects

There are currently 145 women graduating with a 4-year degree for every 100 men

That's 1/3 of college educated women left out in the cold, with no college educated man to marry
And of course that's a lower bound: it doesn't consider the many other dimensions college educated women are picky on

And there's no good alternative for middle class kids

What are you going to do anon, *not* send your daughter to college?

Where do you think the marriageable men her age are?

Ngl, it hurts a little when somebody I like blocks me

Usually a woman, and usually because they misunderstand what I'm trying to say

You have to be willing to be misunderstood to poast effectively, but that is often at odds with the demands of social relationships
As it's ever been

In some ways I'm a more authentic version of myself as a pseudonymous twitter account, I made this account to have the conversations that would get me ostracized in my lib IRL social circles

And then I get ostracized anyway, for the same reasons

I don't want to dunk on OP here too much, because this is a common thing

But women really, really don't understand male sexuality

Most men would sleep with a marginally attractive female friend if she expressed interest, and the converse is obviously not true
And the reason women don't understand this is that boys are socialized from birth to suppress and hide their sexual interest in women

And that's a good thing!

You can't have a civilization without some degree of such suppression
The issue is that women used to understand that such restraint was in fact being applied (were even thankful!)

But now the pro-social myth of "of course I'm not imagining bending you over this couch right now" is increasingly accepted at face value as men's actual preference

Astonishing how sanitized the mainstream narrative of the civil rights movement is

All the ridiculous race grifting, all the one-sided violence and rioting, all the purposeful institutional blindness, all that stuff you notice today was just as bad in 1967
All this stuff happened before and people who know better than you decided we should all pretend it didn't happen lest somebody get the wrong ideas

And it worked, those people won, inconvenient facts were successfully buried and forgotten

Meanwhile what my kids learn in school this month is that George Washington Carver invented peanut butter

When this happened to me I developed intellectual pursuits outside the classroom, read the entire school library sci fi catalog in class, taught myself to code on my TI-83 during math

Low agency whiners: you didn't hold up the next hoop for me to jump through fast enough :'(
For when he blocks me or goes private Image
Lot of people quote tweeting this are some flavor of "defending them for free online" so let me make my stance very explicit and legible:

Whining about your school experience being too easy when you have 99.9th %ile IQ is contemptible behavior and I will dunk on it, fight me
