If #Sati was common, why did we have these window queens rule in diff parts of #Bharatvarash?

1. Rani ki Vav was built by the widow Queen Udayamati of the Solanki Dynasty in memory of her husband.

2. Rudabai Stepwell was built by Queen Rudabai in memory of her late husband twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
3. Rani Chennamma fought the British after her husband died.

4. Manikarnika The Queen of Jhansi fought the British after her husband died.
5. Rani Ahilyabai Holkar ruled for 40 years after her husband's death.

6. Rani Didda of Kashmir ruled for a couple of decades after her husband died.

7. Rani Kota of Kashmir didn't commit Sati when her husband died, but chose to remarry to protect her people.
8. Rani Ladi of Sindh kept fighting & protecting her people after her husband was killed by Qasim, she chose to commit Johar only when she felt there was no way out.
I am sure there are many such stories from all the regions of India.

If Sati Pratha was common - these women would never have kept fighting for their people after their husbands died.
9. Rani Velu Nachiyar was the first queen to wage war against the British. She lived for 16 more years after her husband died in a war.
10. Rani Naiki Devi of the Solanki Dynasty ruled when her husband died and her son was still a minor.
She defeated Islamic zealot Ghori. twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
11. Queen Prabhavatigupta 400CE ruled for 13 years as a regent after her husband died & her sons were still minors. twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
12. Queen Keladi Chennamma ruled for 25 years after her husband's death, she repelled the advance of the Mughal Army led by Aurangzeb in Karnataka. twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

Early attacks on Indian Subcontinent by Arabs.

#KingsOfTheNorth

After Prophet Muhammad died in 632AD, Caliphs took charge of preaching this new faith.

634-661 is considered the Golden Age of Islam. twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
Due to superiority of the Arab horses, camels & religious zeal, they were able to easily Islamicize Syria, Iraq, Iran, North Africa, & Central Asia.

Arabs were at their peak and were inflicting defeats on their enemy’s everywhere.

But the land of India gave them a tough fight.
Arabs had an ambitious plan to conquer India.

Caliph Umar sent his naval expeditions to

1. Coast of Thane in 636CE.
2. Baruch in 643CE.

Both expeditions failed.

What #CBSE history books tell us- #VascoDaGama was the first #European to reach India by sea.

What they don't tell us

1. When he arrived in Calicut in Sep 1500, he #burnt other ships & crew alive in full view of the public.

2. He #bombarded the city of Calicut for 2 days.
