1/ Moving to Notion the Right Way

For every team I meet that loves @NotionHQ, there are several whose workspaces have completely unraveled.

But the overwhelm is completely avoidable.

Here are five crucial steps to ensure a smooth transition:

#TeamCollaboration
2/ Understand Notion's Core Concepts

Notion uses blocks, pages, and databases to organize and structure your work. Familiarize yourself with these concepts and their functions.

It's more than a note-taking app—it's a flexible workspace customized to fit your team's needs. 💡
3/ Define Your Team's Needs and Goals

Clearly understand what you hope to achieve with Notion.

Are you streamlining project management or building a knowledge base? Defining your goals provides a blueprint for setting up your workspace. 🎯

#TeamProductivity
4/ Plan Your Workspace Structure

A well-organized workspace is key to leveraging Notion's potential.

☑️ Create separate pages for projects, departments, functions.
☑️ Databases for tasks, resources, and contacts.
☑️Explore Notion's templates for enhanced functionality. 📂
6/ Start Small and Iterate

Don't move everything at once.

Begin with a small project or specific team function.

This allows acclimation to the tool and provides insights for adjusting and optimizing your Notion workspace.🌱 #Agile
7/ Remember!

Embracing Notion can enhance team collaboration and productivity.

The goal is to improve how your team works together. 🤝

When @NotionHQ's Wikis were released, I didn't think there were any benefits using them over databases.

Now, my whole workspace runs on one wiki.

Here's why... Image
💾 Wikis allow you to organize databases.

Databases are infinitely customizable, but they have to be individual pages, ie you can't have a database of databases.

You can organize databases in a wiki though.

But why would you want to?
🪄 Customize how you display databases

This wasn't possible before wikis.

Now you can organize databases by tags, categories, last edited, or any other property you set up. Image
