With the good news this week I thought it was time Wigan Athletic got a go

So here are 5 players they could sign based on YOUR suggestions

Comment what team + 5 positions I should do next 👇 Image
RB: Kane Vincent-Young

I may have suggested him for a few teams now, but he’s undoubtedly the League 1 free agent right back to look out for, and he remains on the market

He had a good season with promoted Ipswich, but is likely to remain in the division. Image
CB: Jesse Debrah

Wigan are in need of some fresh defensive legs, and they should look no further than Halifax Town defender Debrah

An athletic, speedy centre back, Debrah is comfortable in possession, and alrrady has plenty of senior experience despite being just 22 Image
LB: Jaden Brown

Another player who has been released by one of the newly promoted sides, Brown never really got a chance at Sheffield Wednesday

He has shown glimpses of his talent, and I believe he needs the platform to flourish. An attack minded full back, Brown is just 24 too Image
CM: Sam Clucas

Clucas has been let go by Stoke, and I feel he still has the quality to comfortably operate at League 1 level, despite being 32

You have to go back to 2015 for the last time he played below Championship level, and he’s been largely a regular starter in that time Image
ST: Tyler Walker

Another player who is going to be hot property for League One level is Tyler Walker. He’s available on a free, and almost guarantees goals at this level

If given the right service, Walker will thrive. A natural born goalscorer, he’s still just 26 too Image
ST: Cole Stockton

Because of the tough time Wigan have had I’ve decided to put in a bonus 6th player. That & I couldn’t decide between Stockton and Walker

North West based, Stockton is one of the most complete forwards at the level. I believe he could even play in Championship Image

Jodi Jones - v Luxembourg 🇲🇹v🇱🇺
(@JodsJones)

We’ve got a couple of players away on international duty at the moment, one of which is Jodi Jones with Malta

A lot of us will watch him again England tomorrow - but here’s how he got on earlier in the week Image
The first thing to note is Jodi played up front for Malta. They played a 3-5-2 system, with JJ high up the pitch

He’d often be the striker to drop in. His play with back to goal was surprisingly very strong. Here brings his team mate into play, playing round the corner superbly
You can see here again he drops off to receive the ball, meaning he has to play with his back to goal

But what I like is the way he lays the ball off but then looks to spin in behind

He’s at his strongest facing goal, and he does everything possible to get into these positions

League One outfit Charlton Athletic are next up

Here are 5 players they could look at based on YOUR suggestions

Comment what team + 5 positions I should do next! 👇 Image
CB: Nando Pijnaker

A player I recently featured in my Transfer Recruitment Doc (pinned tweet), New Zealand international Pijnaker has had an exceptional season in Ireland

A progressuve ball carrier, the left sided centre back is just 24, so has room to develop Image
CM: Archie Collins

Collins played almost every game for Exeter last season in League 1, and he is now available on a free transfer

At 23 he’s another that could develop nicely, as well as already having League 1 experience. Capable in a variety of roles also has an eye for goal Image

It’s been a year since Luke Williams was announced as boss.

It’s also a year since I produced my first thread on him, and some of it really rang true

Some of it also gave me the idea to take a look at how the next 12 months may pan out 🧵👇 Image
Firstly, I’d like to say this is just speculation/a bit of fun. I don’t even expect this to happen

But watching how his Swindon side played gave me an idea of how we might evolve

Crucially, the idea that the next step could be a transition to a 4 at the back system
It’s obviously something discussed throughout the fan base. Often it’s rightly pointed out that he likely won’t change a system that gained 107 points

I do feel though that something is often lost. The shape we play isn’t LW’s; it’s what he inherited ImageImage

🧵Sensible Transfers: Solihull Moors

#NationalLeague side Solihull are one of the few I haven’t done for this level

Here are 5 players they could look at based on YOUR suggestions

Remember to comment what team + 5 positions I should do next below! 👇 Image
GK: Tiernan Brooks

Neal Ardley likes his side to play out from the back, and with Boot potentially off they might need a new keeper

Solihull aren’t adverse to a loan keeper and Brooks will be looking for a full time senior loan. Local enough too so I like the fit all round Image
CB: Zak Lilly

Once again, the focus has to be on defenders who are confident and capable playing out from the back

Hereford’s Lily is a defender who played more passes than most in NLS. He’s also 24, local and likely to be available for cheap Image

🧵Sensible Transfers: #Millwall

The latest instalment is Championship side Millwall

Here are 5 players they could look at

Remember to comment what team I should do next plus 5 positions! 👇 Image
GK: Ethan Horvath

Promotion winner Horvath is likely to be available again, as Forest are stacked in the keeper department. I also feel Luton will look at an experienced PL stopper

This means the big American could be available, either on loan or on the cheap Image
LB: Sam McCallum

Left back was extremely difficult, however one player I do feel has a lot of upside is 22 year old McCallum

He’s had 3 campaigns at Championship level now. He’s entering the final year of his contract, so may be available on a cheap deal Image

🧵Sensible Transfers: #ITFC

Newly promoted side Ipswich Town are the most recent focus of this series

For a full breakdown check out the brilliant document produced by @Thomas_Lane11

Remember to comment your team + 5 positions below! 👇 Image
LCB: Eiran Cashin

Derby have already lost a key player, so they’ll be reluctant to let go of Cashin too. But there are scarce few better left sided centre backs than the young Irishman

I’m a big fan of sides recruiting players from the division they’ve been promoted from Image
RB: Fankaty Dabo

Ipswich may want to add some Championship experience, with free agent Dabo providing just that

He was part of a Coventry side who were almost promoted. He’s better than that penalty miss, and would add genuine quality to their side Image
