🟡2 weeks ago New York Times published an article on SIKKIM and it’s declining population.

🟡Yes, it’s true Sikkim’s TFR (total fertility rate) is declining. According to stats on an avg every woman had about 1 child.

🟡Govt is now encouraging 3 children per family

🟡 govt is ready to pay attendants ready to look after infants, Rs 10,000 per month

🟡Reasons for low TFR— female labour participation in the state is 59% as compared to 29%; Men go to other states for work and get married late.

🟡 Govt had introduced VATSALYA scheme: A women-centric scheme where an amount of Rs. 3 lakhs of financial assistance for treating infertility would be given to couples having difficulty in conceiving where the couples can undergo In-vitro Fertilization (#IVF) treatment.

Big Excellent News: Modi govt hit hard at Milords on UCC

Modi govt reminded the court that it's only for the elected representatives & the legislature to decide whether the country should have UCC & that no court can issue directives to the parliament to frame a

specific statute
So 22nd Law Commission decided to solicit views & ideas from all stakeholders, incl public at large & recognised religious organisations, about UCC

Those interested & willing may present their views within a period of 30 days from the date of Notice.
Modi govt

told Miyalord Chandrachud that personal laws based on religion is an “affront to the nation’s unity”, adding UCC will bring about integration of India by bringing different communities on a common platform through an unvarying legal regime

நாசா, மைக்ரோஸாஃப்ட் போன்ற பல பண்ணாட்டு நிறுவனங்களில் இன்று தமிழர்கள் பலர் பணிபுரிய கலைஞர்தான் காரணம் என்று வைரமுத்து பேசியிருக்கிறார் -

முதன்முறையாக, வைரமுத்துவின் கருத்தோடு நான் உடன்படுகிறேன், ஆம். Google CEO சுந்தர்பிச்சை மட்டுமல்ல இன்னும் பல தமிழர்கள் குறிப்பாக பிராமணர்கள்
