NEW w/ @oliviamevans_: Are a record number of Kentuckians employed under Gov. Andy Beshear?

spoiler: no

courier-journal.com/story/news/pol…
Beshear repeated this inaccuracy frequently over the past two-ish weeks.

His campaign included it in a fundraising email yesterday.

Only after being questioned by The Courier Journal about the accuracy of his data did he correct course.

To be clear: when I say “correct course,” he changed his wording during his weekly Team Ky. presser Thursday — roughly 90 minutes after I first asked the gov’s office for comment.

Beshear did not explain the discrepancy, nor did he clarify that his previous stat was wrong.
ICYMI: This is not the first time Beshear misinterpreted data.

This is everyone’s semi-regular reminder that if you don’t like me, you can unfollow me. Image
I’m serious, y’all. Leave! Truly!
I've gotten relentlessly attacked, harassed, nitpicked, judged and critiqued on here for *years* and I've put up with it, time after time after time.

But the way y'all absolutely lunged at my throat over the past 36 hours is completely unacceptable. 100% full stop.

It appears someone on the Ky. Dept. of Ed's legal team did a deep grammatical reading of SB 150 because their new guidance to schools prompted a Senate GOP email about KDE's "absurd efforts to skirt state law."
KDE updated their guidance around SB 150 Monday, expanding on what they previously put out weeks ago.

Background on that from @KristaJ1993:

courier-journal.com/story/news/edu…
The part being called "absurd" is the new reading of SB 150's rules around teaching sexuality, gender identity, sexual orientation, etc.

5th grade and under can't learn about sex at all, and no one K-12 can learn about identity, orientation.

At least, that's what we thought.

Tell me the best place to break up with someone in Louisville.

(For journalism.)

Like, yes, this is for an actual article that I actually pitched and the editors actually signed off on.

Public service journalism, y'all.

forms.gle/rXcztY1SBzEXFz…
A few notes:

- break up spot needs to be at least semi-publicly accessible - do not tell me to have people break up in their home

- focusing on spots in jefferson county rn

- defining "break up" very loosely. ending a two-week situationship qualifies as a break up!

🚨Gov. Andy Beshear has VETOED Senate Bill 150.
Beshear also vetoed Senate Bill 107, which would make Kentucky's education commissioner subject to Senate confirmation.
NEW: As expected, Kentucky's governor has rejected one of the nation's most extreme pieces of anti-trans legislation. #KYGA23

.@GovAndyBeshear just dropped his first set of vetoes for #KYGA23.

SB 150 is *not* on the list, but here's what is:
House Bill 4 regarding electric generating facilities.

House Bill 329 allowing the state treasurer to end government contracts as recommended by a legislative committee.

I've been getting some questions about this statement. So, let's chat.
First, a point of context: Sen. Mike Wilson is the sponsor of SB 107.

All SB 107 does now is require Kentucky's education commissioner to be confirmed by the Senate every four years.

Floor debates signaled this bill was directly aimed at ed commish Jason Glass.
In Wilson's statement, he blamed Glass for shuttering schools due to COVID-19.

Glass got hired mid-2020, so he wasn't here when schools first closed and future calls came from executive order - not him.
