Hold onto your depositions, friends. This is amazing, beautiful, and so, so, satisfying. And I have some more backup. Read this extended tweet then come back to my thread for some deeper drives showing it’s all true. 🧵
Here’s the confirmation for that extended tweet. Remember, it was the bûtthûrt Republicans who sued the local newspaper for criticizing them (correctly), and discovery is why this is coming out. #FAFO /3
@MaddowBlog has more to say on all this schadenfreude. /4
I think this is the opinion piece they got sued for but they didn’t directly link to it in the above editorial. So I’m guessing.
It’s a great snapshot of how anti-Democratic the Republican Party has become in what they’d try to overturn an election. /6 eriereader.com/article/erie-a…
The group defending @ErieReader is the @rcfp Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press. They explain why this defamation lawsuit is another SLAPP at the First Amendment.

Here’s the lawsuit, thanks to the @rcfp Reporters Committee for Freedom off the Press who are defending the @ErieReader! Case is [State] Senator Daniel Laughlin v Erie Reader, Jim Wertz (author of the article) @jimwertz
Help the @ErieReader fight this attack from the lying, thieving fascists masquerading as a political party. (Yeah, I know I should have said how I really feel about this.)

It’s here, it’s here! It’s the full transcript of the ChatGPT lawyers appearing before the judge in a “show cause” hearing. As in show me why I shouldn’t cause you both to lose your bar cards.
And again, it wasn’t the mistake of using new tech, it was the really clumsy cover ups
Dan’s thread pulls out some great excerpts from the transcript if you’d rather not read 64 pages of some pretty amazing judge frostiness. This one made me laugh because, sure, ChatGPT supplemented your legal research.
The comments throughout Dan’s thread are great as well.
… Will Wilkerson who was the source for most of the original @hugolowell story.
While it’s a typical no-there-there Devinfamation LOLsuit, it’s somewhat less deranged than his earlier work. He accuses everyone of inventing their reporting out of whole cloth to harm him… /2
… yet refrains from throwing feces within the suit itself. Sure there isn’t a single bit of support for any of his assertions, + of course he claims any suggestion he laundered Russian money was so outrageous as to be impossible, + ok he boasts he’s the APEX OFFICER… /3
This is an absolutely amazing story and of course Devin makes a couple of appearances. In this thread, the author mentions defamation in a non-Nunes context. Read @drewharwell thread then follow mine here for Devin specific content and I’ll drop a gift link to the story! 1/11
Here is gift link to story. While it covers a lot of new info about Trump Media + Technology Group, Truth Social (which it owns) + the Digital World SPAC deal, it doesn’t mention that weird event where Trump, his son and Kashyap all quit the board. 2/11
Here is the story about them cutting and running from the Board, which is no doubt related to the TWO investigations, SEC + SDNY (federal). The investigations are mentioned in the WaPo story but not this! Goes to consciousness of guilt. 3/11
This. As a pile of terrible defamation lawsuits, I know this is why I even exist. I’m not a legitimate use of the legal system. I’m a bludgeon used by cynical, dishonest bullies. 🏏🔨🏒🥍🪧🗃🗃🗃
1. Cowlifornia suit against several of his own cownstituents for calling him a #FakeFarmer. He called himself a farmer on the ballot description+ they pointed out he didn't have a farm.
Suit withdrawn by Devin, probably due to strong CA anti-SLAPP laws

Twitter removed from suit, Devin attempted to re-add them, judge told him to cut it out. Now says he'll appeal Twitter's removal. Suit still exists against other 3 but he can't identify Cow + Mom.
