Following my #EFL thread yday, here are 10 #NationalLeague players who need a move to revitalise their career
These are mainly players who 12 months ago had a very high stock, and who I believe are capable of hitting those levels again 🧵👇
Cal Roberts
This one is the epitome of what this thread is all about. I have no doubt Cal Roberts is still a top, top player; he just needs the move to show it
He’s had an unlucky time in Scotland, & 12 months ago he was one of the best in the NL. A technically gifted attacker
Alex Lacey
12 months ago Lacey was seen as a top end NL defender, so much so that he got himself a move to the EFL despite missing out on promotion with Notts
It’s been a really poor 12 months for him, but a fresh move may unlock that defender once more
Kyran Lofthouse
This one may seem bizarre considering he’s a highly rated, highly coveted free agents around. But 12 months ago Lofthouse was REALLY highly rated, and he hasn’t kicked on as much
Still, he’s now available and I feel he should take the chance to move
Joe Sbarra
Another entry here where he’s had a decent season. But 12 months ago Sbarra was THE guy. Young Player of the Season, chased by EFL clubs, only to extend at Solihull
I feel his time with Moors is up now. He’s served them well, but he deserves a move imo
Shaun MacDonald
This one is actually pretty sad. MacDonald was one of the big losses from the Torquay side that was finally dismantled last summer
Yet he wasn’t even given a chance at Cheltenham. Hes still got EFL ability, but maybe a move back to NL will help revitalise career
Billy Waters
He’s now technically an EFL player again, but Waters must feel the 12 months after his best ever season haven’t gone amazingly
Sure, he’s probably on better money now. But he barely played as he won promotion back to where he left for last summer.
Joe Lewis
Another member of the dismantled Torquay side, Lewis was possibly the one that was tipped to go on and do the best
He struggled to settle at Stockport, and has now totally fallen out of favour. There’s no doubt that he’s still got a bright future; needs a fresh start
Sol Nwabuokei
When Woking announced they had re signed Sol, their fans were overjoyed. And despite it starting okay, by the end of the loan spell they were glad to get rid
It’s a shame, especially considering his stock 12 months ago. He’s now on a free so a good time for a move
Jordan Davies
Davies went from being one of the key players in a side that almost got promoted, to a bit part player in a side that did get promoted
I know it’s his hometown club, but surely he needs a move for more game time. At his best he’s a magnificent player; maybe a loan
Dan Mooney
When Southend signed Mooney, it was lauded by many, including myself, as a brilliant signing. But it turns out signing players that don’t fit the system doesn’t tend to work
He’s still shown glimpses of his undeniable talent. He needs to play in a system with wingers

Luke Williams’ latest recruit is attacking midfielder Crowley
He’s especially interesting as he’s spent much of his career in the Netherlands
Here is a thread on the new man, and what we can expect from him 👇
The Key Stats
Age: 25
Height: 5ft9
Last Club: Morecambe
Position: AM (as shown in graphic)
22/23 (League One):
Games: 21
Goals: 2
Assists: 5
1.25 Chances Created per 90
671 passes completed (87% accuracy)
8 tackles won (73% accuracy)
The first thing that catches the eye about Crowley is the speed and quickness of his movement. In particular, how quickly he’s able to manipulate the ball by shifting his feet
Here he completely takes the defender out of the game, opening the space for a perfectly weighted pass
🧵🏴 England play against North Macedonia tonight. England aren’t adverse to former Non-League players, with Mings in the current squad potentially playing tonight
So here is an XI of players in Non-League who I feel could one day pull on the famous 3 Lions Shirt 👇
Owen Foster
Scunthorpe’s 18 year old keeper Foster had a brilliant stint when called upon last season, so much so that he is now going on trial at several Championship clubs
A brilliant shot stopper, Foster has massive potential. Needs the right development
Kellen Fisher
Okay, so Fisher isn’t technically a NL player anymore BUT he only just moved to Norwich, so I’m counting him here
That move says it all for him really - he has genuine potential to be a top right back. He’s already mature beyond his years at 18
Promoted side Sheffield Wednesday were requested yday afternoon. So here are 5 players they could look at based on YOUR suggestions
Remember to comment your team + 5 positions below 👇
GK: Josh Vickers
Wednesday rotated their keepers last season, so you’d expect them to need to add another safe pair of hands
Vickers is exactly that. He’s based fairly locally, so geography works, and he’s shown over a number of years he’s a very capable keeper
CB: Lloyd Jones
A defender I’d like to see make the step up with Wednesday is Jones. He’s been brilliant for Cambridge for a number of years, and is now available on a free
A strong defender, one in his prime at 27, Jones is capable on the ball & would be a cost effective move
Newly promoted Leyton Orient will need to strengthen ahead of their return to League 1
Here are 5 players they should sign based on YOUR suggestions

GK: Joe Wollacott
Charlton are supposedly listening to offers for the Ghanaian international, a keeper who not only has good experience but is also comfortable on the ball
At 26 he’s the perfect age for a keeper, and location works perfectly here too
LB: Ziyad Larkeche
Available on a free following the expiry of his contract at Fulham, Larkeche was on loan at Barnsley last season, and despite having limited minutes he ranked highly statistically
Confident going forward, Larkeche is still just 20 years old so has potential
